Background:
December is learning to survive Rúncyld as a lone elf touched by the elements of water. She is known as the Blueberry of Douxel Vale for her striking blue skin. She is learning to navigate the realm of undead and fey but not without cost. She has attempted to steal from hags. She has cut down giants single-handedly and learned to navigate the world without light but... she is terrified. waking in the night with cold sweat and panic attacks. She hears chewing...constant chewing... Beneath her poise is a fierce commitment to her own survival. Whether slipping through the shadows in a swamp, scrubbing the floor of the sunless tavern, or letting vampires charm her, December walks the thin line between life and undeath doing what she must to survive and hopefully stay part of the living.
In the Douxen Vale, after being captured by hobgoblins, serving a tavern of undead, and confronting a cloven of hags, she realized much could twist her words, steal her mind, or press past a person’s will, December approached the hag Bony Alice and asked for ward marks to be tattooed into her skin. The thin circles scars around her wrists, ankles, and throat are not ornaments to her, but an ancient fey ward... protection and channel her elemental affinity (Magic Initiate Feat Wizard) to keep her alive... and proof that her hands, steps, breath, and name are hers.
After helping save an elven youngling from the silver-tongued coven hags of Douxel Vale, December chose compassion over caution and paid for it. The girl she "rescued" turned into a dark trick, charming her, leading her deep into the twisted forest, and leaving her alone and lost, stripped of coin and supplies. Having already watched the hags take fingers from others, December spent that night by the river terrified, realizing that compassion was weakness... this time, at least, she had kept her fingers.
December, after retrieving the Bone Key to the Bone Box, took the offer from the Stranger and drank a Vial of Monster blood mixed with Ichor and drank a Rust Monster blood. She is now permanently affected by the effect. (DM's See Player Notes to GM Section Below)
Description:
December is striking at a glance, with the unmistakable beauty and otherworldliness of Elf heritage and somehow infused with the Elemental forces of Water (Water Genasi). Her skin carries cool blue tones and a scent like deep river water under moonlight, and her features are fine, sharp, and graceful without seeming delicate. Her eyes are vivid and watchful. There is a calm, controlled quality to the way she holds herself, but beneath it all, she's terrified. (Story in Pros)
