The air in the Vale hung heavy with the scent of damp earth and old secrets as an unlikely fellowship assembled. Their quarry? The origin of the Bone Box, a grim artifact confirmed to be the handiwork of Bone Hags.
The company was as eclectic as it was dangerous:
Armed with cryptic instructions on what to avoid and a handful of enchanted items, the group vanished into the mist of the marshes.
The swamp did not wait long to test them. Barely past the treeline, the party stumbled upon a grim tableau: Alaric, the Orc Soul, a hag hynter himself, was being held captive by a brutish pack of Ogres. The rescue was swift; the Ogres were no match for the collective might of the party, and their bodies were left to sink into the mire as Alaric was liberated.
Flush with an easy victory, the group made a fateful decision: they would seek out a Hag Nursery to the north.
They arrived to find seven young hags-in-training huddled around a bubbling cauldron, brewing volatile mixtures. The failures of their craft did not vanish; instead, they rose from the sludge as Cauldronborn—clattering, animated constructs of waste and magic.
The party was met by Nyssa, one of the formidable Sisters of the Silver Tongue. While parley began, the swamp’s natural predators sensed an opening. Rum and Yum and Shinikaba wandered too close to the water's edge, triggering a sudden, violent ambush by two giant crocodiles.
Chaos, however, truly erupted from within. While the trolls wrestled with scales and teeth, December lived up to a rogue's reputation. Attempting to literally "steal from a child," the Genasi was caught red-handed. The peaceful—if tense—negotiation shattered instantly.
The nursery turned into a slaughterhouse. Nyssa’s hospitality curdled into a hag’s wrath, and the young hags turned their magic against the intruders. When the splashing and screaming finally stopped:
The session closed with the group standing amidst the wreckage of the camp. They had survived, but the cost was high; the potion-stealing Cauldronborn had made off with much of their stock, leaving the fellowship to lick their wounds and wonder what the Sisters of the Silver Tongue had in store for them next.

The Widow’s Tooth (Dagger of Venom) The Look: A blackened splinter of bone dripping with a thick, viscous green bile. The Bonus: +1 to hit/damage and the standard Poison weapon action. The Setback: The venom is volatile. On a Natural 1, the dagger leaks onto the wielder. You must succeed on the DC 15 Constitution save or be poisoned yourself. While poisoned this way, you can only speak in croaks and hisses. Armor, + 1 studded leather
Akasha Redvale
Potion of mind reading - The Widow’s Wail (Violin) Wondrous Item, Rare (Requires Attunement by a creature proficient with the fiddle or violin) This violin is carved from petrified bog-wood that is unnaturally cold to the touch. Its four strings are not made of gut or wire, but of silvered human hair taken from a grieving widow. The bow is a jagged piece of blackened bone. Twisted Performance While you are holding this violin, you gain a +2 bonus to your Spell Save DC and to spell attack rolls. If you do not have the Spellcasting feature, this bonus instead applies to the DC of any features you use that require a saving throw and are flavored as being delivered through your performance. Bitter Echo: When a creature succeeds on a saving throw against a spell or feature you delivered using this violin as a focus, you can use your reaction to deal 2d4 psychic damage to that creature as the instrument emits a mocking, sharp hiss.
Bony Alice
Staff of the python The Spinal Tap (Staff of Striking) The Look: A literal human spine, magically stiffened, with a skull at the tip that chatters when it hits something. The Bonus: Standard +3 and extra force damage. The Setback: The staff draws power from your own skeletal integrity. For every charge you expend to deal extra damage, your own bones grow brittle. You take a cumulative -1 penalty to Armor Class until you finish a Long Rest, as your posture slumps and your joints stiffen. The Seed Satchel. - Bony Alice
Shinikaba
Ring of earth elemental command -
Ryum & Yama
Ring of warmth The Cinder-Soot Cincture (Belt of Fire Giant Strength) The Look: A belt made of charred, blackened dragon-hide that constantly smolders. It smells of sulfur and burnt hair, and thin wisps of gray smoke rise from the buckle—which is a rusted iron plate embossed with a screaming face. The Bonus: Your Strength score becomes 25. The Setback (The Burning Weight): The belt is perpetually hot. You have Disadvantage on Stealth checks because you leave scorched footprints and a trail of smoke wherever you go. Additionally, the belt’s unnatural "density" makes you heavy as a furnace; you weigh an additional 400 lbs, giving you Disadvantage on Athletics checks to swim and a nasty tendency to fall through weak floors or collapse furniture just by sitting down.
Alaric the Orc-Soul
Potion of animal friendship The Gluttonous Band (Ring of Spell Storing)The Look: A ring made of a petrified, curled-up finger that occasionally twitches. The Bonus: Can store up to 5 levels of spells as normal. The Setback: The ring is hungry. When you cast a spell stored inside it, you must "feed" it. You take 1d4 necrotic damage per spell level cast as the ring bites into your finger. If this damage drops you to 0 HP, the spell fails and the ring swallows your soul. The Tongue of the All-Mother (Helm of Comprehending Languages) The Look: A dried, hollowed-out Crow’s head that fits like a cap. The Bonus: Understand all spoken and written languages. The Setback: You understand too much. You hear the "true intent" behind words. While wearing it, you have Disadvantage on Insight checks because you are constantly overwhelmed by the secret, hateful, or disgusting subtext of everyone’s speech (e.g., a merchant saying "Hello" sounds like "I want your gold and I hope you choke")
