Name: Redwick
Class: Warlock, Pact of Tome
Subclass: Great Old One
Race: High Elf
lvl 1: First title: The Ink-Touched Girl - LVL1 Image: Redwick, The Ink-Touched Girl
lvl 3: Current Title: The Elf Who Writes with Blood
Redwick is a young high elf warlock, slight, bespectacled, her skin mapped in handprint tattoos, her fingers black with ink. Red arcane threads slip from her pages when she casts. Candles lean toward her when she opens the Tome.
Redwick hates orcs with a ruthless, personal hatred. When her village was raided, she watched from hiding as her mother and sisters were raped, her father and brothers' throats slit. When the orc-witch fell asleep in the same room as her, she drove her knife into the skull of the vile beast. The candles burned blood-red that night. She remembers a voice in Elvish, "Very good, Redwick. Very Good."
Since that day, she has gone by Redwick. She doesn't even remember her old name.
She uses blood to create her ink...
----
After carving and ripping the heart from the Lyconthrope who killed Bramble:
Later, away from the noise of the common room, Redwick prepared the heart.
She washed the lycanthrope’s blood from her hands, then stained them again on purpose.
The heart was placed in a dark ceramic vessel lined with black salt, bitter herbs, ash, and wax. Around it she wound a thin cord of silver thread, not enough to kill what lingered in the blood, only enough to keep it obedient.
Once, while it sat in the vessel, the heart gave a soft, wet pulse.
Redwick watched it without blinking.
“No,” she whispered. “You do not get to die yet.”
She took a narrow bone stylus and drew a single drop of blood from it. The drop darkened in the air before touching the page, becoming ink.
A red-black line spread across her tome.
The first word it formed was not a spell.
It was a name.
Bramble.
Redwick closed her eyes for a moment.
Then she kept writing.
