Ravelle Ashe was born sickly and wrong in ways pious people notice. She came into the world with seven fingers on each hand, and from that moment onward, people whispered "witch" because they had marked her before birth. While her body remained weak, magic seeps through her like a fissured ley-line. Fever-dreams, omens, and sudden bursts of uncontrollable wild sorcery follow her wherever she travels. Acolyte of Lia Leng, the Witch Queen and patroness of witches and sorceresses, took her in and tried to teach her the language of sigils, offerings, hedge-charms, and forbidden devotion. They ultimately decided to sacrifice her to their god. She died but was reborn a vessel: a sorceress whose fragile body can barely contain the power living in her soul.
