After joining the server, your next step is to create your PC!
Creating a Sheet in Roll20
- Go to the Roll20 Home page, hover over "Characters" on the top banner, and select "My Characters"
- Select one of the "Dungeons & Dragons - 5e" sheet, and click the "+" next to it. We recommend the "5e Classic" sheet (even for 2024 PCs.) Unless you have purchased all the content you wish to use on roll20, the "5e Classic" sheets are easier for copying and pasting information from other sources, and tend to be less buggy than the "5e New" sheets.
- When prompted, select "Edit Sheet Directly" (do not use the charactermancer). "Edit sheet directly" allows you to build your character from scratch
- Copy and Paste the "TGFS Bookkeeping Information" below into your "features and traits" by clicking the "+" and then the gear. Fill this out on your sheet as you build the rest of your character!

Important notes:
- If you have never made a D&D 5e PC before, please check out the 2024 5e Character Creation steps before proceeding.
- If this is your first time making a 5e sheet on roll20, check out the roll20 sheet guide here
- The roll20 compendium does not have all the character options that are approved for the server. You will need to manually input other content from server approved sources.
- Check out House Rules for any server-specific changes, bans, or rulings
- Be sure to fill out the "TGFS Bookkeeping" information as you build your character!!
Allowed content
- Unless stated elsewhere, this server goes by "Rules As Written" (RAW).
- See the "Allowed Content" in Introductory Information or #server-info for what sources you can use to build your PC
- Multiclassing is allowed, but you must have the required prerequisites as outlined in the 2024 PHB
- Any optional features from approved sources are allowed (eg: the 'customizing your origins' from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.)
Starting information
- Your first PC will start at lvl 2
- We use 27 point buy or standard array for determining ability scores. There is a calculator for this found in #resources
- All PCs start with gold instead of equipment. This is 50gp from any background + class starting gold
- All PCs start with a trinket of your choice (see the options in the "Allowed Content" section of #server-info )
- For Health (HP), you gain your max hit die roll + con for your first level, then the average of your hit die + con for all additional levels. There is a calculator for this found in #resources
Other Rules
- Your PC must be an adult for their race/species; this applies to both age and appearance.
- We do NOT allow PCs with the chaotic evil alignment.
- PCs starting at lvl 2 start with 2 free healing potions
- If you are using a non-reprinted 2014 Background that does not provide a feat, you may choose one from "Tough", "Magic Initiate" or "Skilled."
To finish up building your character on roll20 be sure to add their portrait by clicking "edit" in the top corner of your sheet.
