While your PC may earn higher rarity magic items on adventures, they may not use them until they reach the appropriate level
Your rank also determines how many magic items and supernatural gifts you can bring with you on your adventures. If you have earned more supernatural gifts than is allowed on an adventure, you can pick from any of the supernatural gifts you've earned. The supernatural gifts you do not pick are only deactivated for the adventure, and return once the adventure is completed. Starting items from prestige do not count against these totals.
Items within bags of holding or other accessible spaces still count towards your total magic items. Items given to familiars, summons, pets, etc brought on an adventure also count towards the PC's total.
There are fillable tables on your character's page on westmarches.games for tracking these limitations

Your XP is automatically tracked in westmarches.games. When you've earned enough XP, it will automatically level you up. Be sure to update your sheet on roll20 to reflect this, then grab your new rank and remove your old rank in #self-assign-roles. Having the correct role for your rank is the only way you will get pinged for upcoming adventures!
When leveling up or updating your sheet, be sure to update the sheet in the PC bank game, and re-import it into "my characters" page. The sheet in the PC bank game itself is considered the "master copy."
Some people may want to hold their current rank and not level up. To do this, go to your character's page on westmarches.games; click "edit character"; then "Experience Ladder" and select the one for the rank you wish to pause at. If you do not do this, you will not be able to sign up for adventures in your level range!
If westmarches.games has already leveled up your character, reset your experience ladder as outlined above, and then reward yourself +1 xp, then reward yourself -1 xp
Once you have an adventure at your current level, you cannot freely revert to a lower level.
While your levels are held, westmarches.games will continue to track your total xp, but not level you up. You can reset your xp ladder to "standard" or to pause at the next rank up at any time.
The first time you have a PC reach level 7 and level 15; you unlock the option to create a 2nd and 3rd PC respectively. Once you've earned these slots, you always have them.
For the sake of soft opening, we are only implementing a single tier of prestige, which is unlocked when your PC reaches level 9
Prestige tiers are unlocked once you've had a PC reach a certain level. Once you've unlocked prestige, you always have it, and any of your future PCs follow the starting guidelines based off your earned prestige tier.
You can then choose what level your PC will start, and gain the coorosponding benefits.
| Starting Level | XP | GP | DTP | Magic Item |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 4 | 2,500gp | 550 DTP | 1 Common |
| 4 | 16 | 2,000gp | 400 DTP | 2 Commons |
| 5 | 32 | 1,000gp | 250 DTP | 1 Uncommon |
The item(s) you gain from prestige do not count against your magic item limits for adventures.
A player can change anything about their character aside from their race and background. You can do any of these changes for free at levels 2, 3, and 4. Once your PC has earned enough XP to reach 'Apprentice' Rank (level 5), see DTP Activity - Retraining & Character Changes for how to make character changes.
Please log any changes made to your PC in their thread in #characters. If you are changing your entire starting class, please ping for @admin in your thread to check your sheet.
