Underdark Expedition
23-24 Eleasis, 1502 DR
Our team followed up with our contacts of Jacob and Venel from Silverymoon, after the discovery of a portal to the Underdark. Alvis, Azrael, Ssrin, Wuyon'e, and I (Sylk) set out with the task to ensure the cavern was clear of dangers, for the city's sake.
The mission was as standard as they come. Between Azrael's familiar and Ssrin's stealth, we scouted ahead to try and take safer paths. A variety of horrible things attacked us though none of us were harmed too badly- babau, vargouilles, maw demons, and draegloths. Shortly after, we were accosted by a wave of undead, the threat cut down significantly thanks to Wuyon'e's prayers. After I spied distant phase spiders and a drider, we all returned to the cavern entrance to rest.
Then came the spiders. Given the drow-like party, we used this to our advantage and somehow convinced the drider to leave. Much credit goes to Alvis' choice disguise. We determined the caverns were free of threats and returned to Silverymoon to report our success.
I would be happy to never disguise myself as a moon elf again. -Sylkran "Sylk" Teke'zynge
Heading into the underdark again. I was once again so close to home and yet so far- but this time, it was amplified by my mentals state. It has been far too long since I've been in these caverns. Far, far too long.
First: I must do what I promised Jabbress and give myself credit. I managed to stop a horde of undead by invoking the name of Selvetarm. I found tracks which led us in the direction we needed to go. I withstood an onslaught of demonic entities. I forumlated a plan to deal with the Drider and gave the others useful information to assist in doing so. Furthermore, I wasn't caught in Silverymoon.
However, we were not able to fully locate the source of the mushroom plague. I suspect we will need to go back in now that the cavern has been cleared out. Though, this is the underdark. Things can move about the caverns, undead can rise, and demons can come in from other planes. Clearing it out seems like a futile task, but we were paid.
I shall forego sharing my weakness or failures. Those are for myself and Selvetarm to know.

I wouldn't have expected 2 weeks ago that I would be back on familiar ground so soon. I can't really say I've missed "home", especially when the job given by the Silverymoon people was to clear out a cavern full of fiends, undead... and even driders.
Most of the job went well, aside from another near-death encounter with some demonic entities, but the mission has run us dry fast. Thankfully, Wu was an amazing help with that undead horde and to "peacefully" negotiate with the drider alongside Alvis's... interesting disguise. Honestly, he wore it pretty well; he might be fit for our ranks. I would never mind not having to use my name for "persuasive" negotiations, especially so close to home; you never know what problems that may cause me... or all of us.
It was nice seeing all my drow associates in a fight; they are more than capable of handling anything that comes their way... probably more than me, but I will get there... I must.
