"I'm Beatrix. You can call me Bea, but if you cross me, you're gonna get the Beat."
Name: Beatrix (Often goes by "Bea", pronounced "Bee")
Race: Human
Class: Monk
Background: Wayfarer
Alignment: Chaotic Good
================================================================================
Beatrix is someone who learned her martials arts on the busy salt-stained docks. Growing up as the only daughter of a poor family, she wanted to help her brothers in the docks even to everyone's objection. Beatrix didn't like sitting around and playing or doing useless hobbies with the other girls her age, most of her time was spent either carrying boxes or observing the many walks of life that came in-and-out of the docks.
The one turning point of her life is that as a child, she was free-spirit and often caused trouble; she got away most of the time but her luck ran out when she pissed off the wrong person. Before having the opportunity to apologize, one of her brother jumped in to save her just in the nick of time as the cobblestone cracked from a mere smash. That day, she understood that words couldn't stop a falling fist, and relying on others to take her hits was a coward's game.
The man she had angered was a ruthless enforcer for a local smuggling ring, a brute whose martial prowess was as terrifying as his temper. Her brother had managed to shove her out of the way, taking a glancing blow that shattered his collarbone and left him bedridden for months. Watching her brother suffer because of her own reckless mouth ignited a fire in Beatrix’s chest that never went out. She realized that the docks ran on a currency much stronger than coin: physical power.
She made a vow to herself that she would never be the fragile one needing rescue again. More importantly, she would become the shield for her family.
Beatrix’s routine changed drastically. Carrying heavy crates of iron and salted fish was no longer just a chore to help her brothers; it became her rigorous strength conditioning. She stopped just observing the sailors, mercenaries, and pit-fighters who passed through the docks, and started analyzing them. Her natural intuition allowed her to deconstruct their fighting styles. She learned how a half-orc shifts their weight before a knockout hook, or how a nimble elf balances on their back foot.
She threw herself into the underground dockside brawls, taking brutal beatings in her early days. But Beatrix was stubborn and built like a brick wall. Every time she was knocked down, she learned. Eventually, she earned enough from the fighting pits to comfortably support her family, paying for her brothers to start their own legitimate shipping business so they would never have to break their backs on the docks again.
Now, with her family safe and thriving, the docks feel too small for her. Beatrix has set out into the wider world, eager to test her street-forged martial arts against monsters, arrogant nobles, and legendary warriors, always ready to step in front of a heavy blow meant for her new crew.
Where did you go? (Name the specific frontier zones, dungeons, or landmarks visited).
- Seperate Pocket Dimension (Desert terrain)
Who did you meet? (List the names of any key NPCs, factions, or major monsters encountered).
- Alex the Wizard
What actually happened? (Provide a brief, 2-to-3 sentence summary of the main events, discoveries, or items found).
- Their experiment gone out of hand
- Their purple worm breed was overgrown in their seperate pocket dimension
- Asked us to neutralize the rogue purple worm
- The purple worm was killed by yours truly.
Where did you go? (Name the specific frontier zones, dungeons, or landmarks visited).
We went South-West towards the sea; the coordinates for the island we arrived at were -16, 20 (use hexagon map on wikipedia; Ashekn Frontier.)
Who did you meet? (List the names of any key NPCs, factions, or major monsters encountered).
- The Party
- Harbormaster Edric (Just passed him; we never interacted with the old man)
- Fisherman Edward (Our trusted captain that we paid money for)
Monsters:
- Vine Blights
- Roper
- Treant
What actually happened?
The party set sail for the island southwest of Dawnport to avenge the murder of Takopi. That was the noble reason, anyway. Really, we just had spare time on our hands.
After some negotiation, the Fisherman agreed to become our captain again, using the ship that Aiden apparently owns now. Once we reached the island, we made our way to the entrance that had been sealed by an endless mass of regenerating vines. We cut our way through and were attacked by five vine blights.
After dealing with them, we travelled for another couple of hours through the cave before discovering a chamber filled with crystals suitable for use as arcane focuses. They were only worth about 10 gp each, but we mined and collected what we could.
While we were doing that, Father Hoilsat was grabbed by a roper and left dangling from the ceiling. Fortunately for him, there was only one roper and six of us, so the fight did not last very long. After killing it, we discovered Takopi’s ribbon among its remains. Takopi was finally avenged.
We could have ended the expedition there, but Izaya and Eden scouted farther ahead and discovered what appeared to be a man-made gate. I deduced that if someone had built a structure this deep inside a cave, then it had to be a dungeon. Obviously.
The party followed them and took a short rest outside a large set of double doors. A quick investigation revealed that the structure beyond was a temple belonging to the Shika Clan. Inside, we discovered an enormous tree growing deep underground. Something within its trunk was pulsing, and whatever it was appeared to seize control of the tree, awakening it as a treant.
We attempted to bring it down without killing it, but the situation became considerably more troublesome when the number of treants increased from one to three. When the original treant finally fell, it spoke its last words:
“Thank you. Take this staff and free me.”
It left behind a rare Staff of the Woodlands, which was given to Carlsberg. We also recovered some kind of red relic, though none of us knew where it came from or what powers it might possess. The smart ones can figure that part out. I did my job.

What actually happened?
Marx came to the tavern and asks for the available adventurers to come help him and Zelodek catch the legend that is azure fish. Why would Marx ask for help? He's the kind of person who would steal the reward... sus.
Afterwards we went to rent a ship, but what do I know? I sneaked through, a gal that grew up in the harbor gotta learn these tricks.
Trafficked myself towards the sea and shot out of the barrel, jumped into the water to catch the legendary fish that has been stalking the ship from behind. That fish was cool, not because it was beautiful or anything; but because it freakin' flew and smacked Marx across the face! Guy fell down; served him right!
Then the fun ended after a pirate ship cameby, wanting to steal our fish just because they thought we were easy?
#!#@#??!#??!# #@
They didn't make it out alive. On a side note, found some unconscious guy and the party saved him. As we reached back to Dawnport, out comes a new face... a sister of a guy named Zelodek?
**Where did you go?**
We departed from Dawnport towards the sea, following the lyrics of Augurs the Bard. The adventure used hexes for movement, and we moved 5 hexes west, 2 hexes north, and 12 hexes south.
**Who did you meet?**
Storyteller, Augrus the Bard, Unnamed Fisherman
**What actually happened?**
The whole party gathered around a table at the tavern, talking among ourselves while listening to the bard’s song. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, a masked stranger appeared and took a particular interest in the story behind the song- especially the tale of the Lost Legacy.
He proposed a deal: we would share whatever we discovered during our exploration at sea. We were skeptical at first, but accepting the arrangement didn’t seem to cost us anything, so we decided to go along with it.
We headed toward the harbor in search of a boat capable of taking us across the high seas. Harbormaster Edric and the Adventurer’s Guild came to mind, but before approaching either of them, we noticed a group of fishermen unloading their catch for the day.
The party came up with a plan to deceive them, using Aiden’s plushable face as our main bargaining chip. We made up a story about his missing father, and the fishermen agreed to let us use their ship for 20 gp per day. Beatrix then intimidated their captain into giving us a discount and coming along as our acting captain. In the end, all we needed to provide upfront was a 30 gp deposit, which Arianna paid.
We spent two days at sea, following the route marked across the hexes. Along the way, we endured several rainstorms, and the ship struck a stone reef once. Despite that, we eventually reached the island.
Soon after our arrival, we discovered that a group of fish-people had followed us. They claimed the island was pure and that, by setting foot upon it, we had desecrated the land. Beatrix was the only one capable of speaking with them due to handshaking with one of the fishpeople and attempted to resolve the situation diplomatically. Unfortunately, the fish-people were quick to attack, revealing that they wanted the treasure for themselves.
The fight ended without any casualties among the party. The fish-people weren’t as fortunate.
We entered the cave and discovered the following:
Found: Captain's Robe, Pirate's Hat, Rusted Binocular, Broken Compass, Scribbled map, Captain's Journal
Captain's Initial found: A.V (Aldrin Voss) by Aiden
Captain's Journal
Day 54
The sea has become our prison. We found shelter within a forgotten cove after the storm tore our ship apart. The crew has spent days repairing what little remains, but every tide seems determined to keep us here. Strange creatures watch us from the water. Men... yet not men. Scales instead of skin. They strike only when darkness falls, dragging away any fool who wanders too close to the shore. We drove them back, but each battle costs us more than the last. The crew grows restless. Some believe the treasure is cursed. Others speak of turning back. They're wrong. We've come too far to abandon this voyage now. Yet every map we've drawn ends in failure. Every course leads us back to the same dead water. ...There has to be something we're missing.
Day 57
I finally understand. The charts were never meant to stand alone. They are fragments... scattered by design. Any fool who finds only one will chase ghosts across the sea until the ocean claims them. If fate has placed these pages in your hands, then know this:
Do not search for my treasure.
Search for
my legacy.
When the three become one...
The sea will reveal the path.
The compass knows. It always has. We leave at first light. May the sea remember our names.
Mushroom Found by Beatrix x3:
Night Cap Mushroom
This squat specimen sports a dark pinky-blue cap with dark speckles and a creamy white stem. Known for inducing vivid and intricate dreams when consumed and used in mass to produce dark blue dye. Blackish-purple spore print.
Where did you go?
The forest. (We weren't told specifically where.)
Who did you meet?
Wisemen Gemstore: Traveller who trades healing potions and holy water for 3 rations each.
Noble soldiers: Five soldiers from the missing noble party (out of 50), they were found in a panicked state in the middle of the burning forest clearing.
Flameskulls: Undead flaming skulls that permanently die from holy water or radiant damage. They were also made from the head of the dead guards (their helmets were still attached)
What actually happened? Everyone departed from Dawnport with a carriage ride. On the way, when we met up with a two-way prong, Wisemen were waiting for us; he wanted to trade our rations for his goods. During that time, we also noticed a hawk signaling us to take the right path. The hawk appears to be from a find familiar spell.
We followed the path to the right where 5 soldiers who had no leaders were panicked as they were surrounded by 4 flameskulls. Naturally, we tried to take them out as far as we can. The party received 9 casualties, all being the guards from Dax's side and the noble's. Only one survived. As we hauled the bodies into a wagon for proper burial in Dawnport, some of their heads were detached as they became flame-skulls right in front of our eyes. [End of Part 1]

The Journey Out:
We rolled out of the Dawnport barracks on wagons, 'We' being (Myself, Father Hoilsat, Hanz, Eden, Dax, Zevrouge and Ariana) and 5 other guards. Not my favorite way to travel; sitting still makes my legs twitch, but whatever.
We hadn’t gone far before we ran into a familiar-looking guy camping I've saved two times prior. It's Wisemen Gemstone! This time he's not in trouble?! Actually shocking. Like always, he was trading potions for our rations.
The Lead:
Noticed a hawk flying overhead that practically pointed its wing at where we needed to go. It led us straight to a burned-out, battle-scarred clearing. Five guards scared shitless because guess what? There were those floating flaming skulls again, but this time they're shooting out fireballs!
Note to self: trying to put a headlock on this floating undead flaming head is a terrible idea (Idk they phased through my magic fists), but a solid right hook still rattles their teeth.
I tried to draw their fire, but I can't be a human shield for everyone at once (Best I got was half of them, good enough.) I yelled at the 5 noble guards to run back to safety, they were scared shitless to even move. Then, four of Dax's five guards got cooked. I’m still pissed about it. I told him, get your men to the backside. They're not adventurers; they can't survive. I'm sure he was just following training/protocol or whatever because he already had a single-line formation all ready. Too bad; that was one of the worst formations you could take; all but one were incinerated to death.
I avenged their death-in-vains. I hated the idea of rebellions, but if not only the prince is incompetent but its retainers? I'm starting to have doubts; it also didn't help that I was mind-washed to think this way.
Dax dug a journal out of the wreckage. I'm sure he can fill you in on the info, but all I heard was one of the adventurers I've met, "Talk Back" and how a literal Devil is after him for summoning it.
While he was doing that, it didn't take my dockside street smarts to put two and two together. I looked at the helmets on the fireballs, looked at the headless bodies, and realized the skulls were the noble soldiers.
Zevrouge seemed to give me the sense that he knew the guards who died; perhaps they had a deeper relationship? I didn't ask; I just stood beside him and gave my respects until the corpses started shifting. Now I'm staring down five brand new Flameskulls.
If we don't make it back to Dawnport, tell my brothers I went down swinging.
The Diary of Today
- Met up at the tavern where Dax and the others seemed to be in a deep conversation about the goblin camp I wanted to beat up! My chest was pounding to know that it's FINALLY time. I didn't listen much to the details though, since I was catching up with Elliana. There were some greenhorns included, guess I'll have to step up.
- Our party departed from the town but not before bringing the captive goblin with us! He was resistin' alot but we got some good info out of him, the bugbear leader, no traps in the camp and the general direction. Tied him up to the tree before I went, hopefully I don't forget.
- (Rumor) We already decided to skip on this upon hearing the rumor while back in the tavern but when you see the treehouse first-hand it really is FUCKIN' creepy. Some woman was cackling nearby, and it was in the middle of the freaking forest! Weird thing is, not even bugs made any sound when we came close. I do NOT want to deal with any supernaturals anytime soon, we had Father Hoilsat back in that haunted house and even then we can't figure out how to defeat it. I mean, how do you punch a ghost?
- We followed 2 goblin patrols that we guessed came from the camp we're looking for, we were stalking it good up until Dax stepped on a branch. I stepped in immediately to grapple one of them gremlins so they can't escape. D got the other one and we interrogated those 2 aswell. Learnt more about the camp, one of them named Jerry wanted to join our civilization. I mean, why not? I left those two tied up by the tree too so we can pick them up later.
- By the time we reached the camp it was nearing dawn, and we still had the shadows of the dark by our side. I had Dax act as bait, making noise by the front-gate since he's our most reliable member, while the others flanked from the sides. Am I a genius or what? My experience came in handy. Immediately went for the long-range archers by the watch-towers since I'm the fastest member while the others covered the other goblins, team-work wise we didn't do too bad! One of the greenhorns, Juli had been reluctant to harm even against the goblins. I call it inexperience but what do you know? He manned the ballista and I immediately grappled the bugbear leader so he had the clear shot. Juli went in for the kill! Didn't know he had that in him.
- Finished with the elimination of the camp, no survivors except for one of the wolves, which I will try to tame!
Introductions
For the record: I was standing shoulder-to-shoulder with him, watching the exact same puppet, and it was as dead as a piece of driftwood. Didn't move an inch. I'm putting it in the report that Marx either inhaled too much of the black mold in the hallway, or the guy is just going crazy.
Investigations
... Turns out Marx's crazy ghost theory wasn't totally off, though. While Zev was doing the boring work, digging through old papers and notes left by the previous tenants... the house decided to wake up.
We confirmed the place is definitely haunted. I know this because a very heavy, very angry piece of furniture flew across the room and tried to take my head off. We spent the next ten minutes brawling in the living room. Let the record show that my fists work just as well on flying chairs and possessed cabinets as they do on people. The place is "clean" now, mostly because I smashed the aggressive furniture into kindling.
The House
According to the notes Zev found, the spook throwing the furniture had some serious unresolved beef with a guy named Marvich.
We did some digging and figured out who he is. Marvich is an old herb merchant, apparently makes a living traveling the roads. Don't know if he sold the ghost a bad batch of tea or owed them money, but he’s the reason that house is a deathtrap.

The Diary of Today
- We were left stranded on the beach, damn ship refused to unboard us properly. Found 2 coconuts though! We gotta escort the cargo deeper in-land.
- Little Goblins ambushed us, got knocked out, and the carriage got fucked, but a cleric (Dax) and a thief (Marx) helped us back up. Marx tried to look into our cargo, too bad. I was there.
- Got the Little Goblins, Marx, John, and Hedge wasn't all that bad.
- After we all reunited with the merchants, I sniffed the ground and found out that some of the goblins had gone the other way to the west, perhaps to their base? (Rumor)
- We got back to the wrecked carriage, Dax was down, ambushed by a goblin by the time we got back. We escaped from the scene when 10+ more goblins were coming over the horizon. We got ourselves a goblin prisoner for the ride, though! Stepped foot into the city safely.
