GUILD EVENT: FINAL COMMISSIONING #003-TG
ISSUED BY: Officer Excella, Chief Logistics Officer
ENTRY LEVEL: All participants will compete at 5th level.
REWARD: Prize for participation and rising rewards for the top 3. A named Plaqued and recognition as the First Champion of the Tournament.
The Crystal Wardstones have been installed. The Echo-Loom has completed its first successful combat trials. The Adventurer’s Guild Training Grounds now requires only one final test before it can be declared fully operational:
Adventurers attempting to defeat one another.
Participants will compete in individual one-versus-one matches. The winner of each match will advance through the tournament bracket until only two finalists remain. The champion’s name will be engraved upon a permanent plaque inside the Training Grounds.
Even numbers of adventurers will be accepted into the tournament.
All participants will compete as 5th-level characters, regardless of their level outside the tournament.
For the opening round, participants may choose their own opponents or choose to have it be random. All subsequent opponents will be determined by advancement through the official tournament bracket.
III. SCHEDULING (OOC)
Tournament matches will be conducted when 2 participants are ready, not on a set time. You just have to tell me your preferred date and time, and we'll run yours then.
Match results will be recorded publicly, and the tournament bracket will be updated after every completed duel.
Victory Conditions. A participant wins by reducing their opponent to 0 hit points, receiving their opponent’s surrender, or winning by referee decision following a rule violation.
No Pre-buffs or Pre-casts. Spells, class features, transformations, summoned creatures, prepared traps, and other abilities may not be activated before initiative is rolled. Exceptions are spells of 8-hour duration or above.
Starting Distance. The default is 30 feet, but participants may ask for a different starting distance. However, this must be agreed by both parties.
Recovery Between Matches. Every advancing participant will begin their next match with a full rest.
Outside Assistance Is Forbidden. Spectators may not cast spells, provide items, enter the arena, or otherwise interfere with a match.
Declare All Equipment. Weapons, armour, spellcasting focuses, and magical items/attunements must be declared before the match. Undeclared equipment may result in disqualification.
Flight Limit. The arena ceiling is approximately 30 feet high, participants may not fly higher than 30 feet above the arena floor or they'll be forced down to the legal height.
Turn Limit. Each participant has 10 minutes to complete their turn. If time expires before they take an Action, they automatically take the Dodge action and their turn ends. I'll pause the timer for a valid technical or rules-related reason.
Sudden-Death Gas. Beginning at Initiative Count 10 of Round 10, both participants take 1d4 unavoidable damage. At the same count each following round, the damage increases by an additional 1d4. The same roll applies to both participants and cannot be reduced or prevented.
No Consumables. Personal potions, poisons, spell scrolls, explosives, and other consumable items are prohibited.
Optional Hero Tokens. Hero tokens are optional (the default is no hero token). Both parties must agree on their use before combat.
