Farmer Pak Lang once again seeks the aid of capable adventurers.
Following recent troubles near the southern farmlands, a new threat has emerged. An unusually aggressive bear has been sighted roaming the countryside surrounding the rice paddies, attacking livestock and destroying property. Several animals have already been killed, and locals report the creature displays behavior unlike that of a normal bear.
Due to the proximity of the southern farmlands to the Dawnport Portal, concerns have been raised regarding whether this incident is connected to the strange occurrences reported in the region over the past several weeks.
Adding further intrigue to the matter, Raum the One-Eyed Giant has personally requested involvement in the investigation.
Many adventurers will remember Raum as the giant whose lands were previously threatened by bandit activity. Since hearing reports of the rampaging owlbear, the giant has repeatedly approached Dawnport's gate guards, insisting that he be allowed to accompany any adventuring party sent to investigate.
While Raum has offered little explanation for his concern, witnesses report him becoming visibly unsettled after hearing descriptions of the beast's condition.
As a native of the lands beyond the Portal, Raum claims he may possess knowledge relevant to the investigation.
