About
WestMarches.games
A Passion Project for the Community
This platform is born from personal experience navigating the wonderful but sometimes overwhelming world of West Marches campaigns. Over the years, I've joined several West Marches communities, but like many players, I found the onboarding process intimidating and confusing. The scattered spreadsheets, Discord channels, and complex systems often made it difficult to get started, especially for those of us who might be a bit nervous or insecure about jumping into a new group.
That's why I created this website, not just as another bookkeeping tool, but as a way to transform the entire West Marches experience into something more welcoming and fun for both players and GMs. The goal is to remove the barriers that prevent people from enjoying these amazing collaborative storytelling experiences.
Beyond making campaigns easier to manage, this platform aims to keep the magic alive between sessions. Whether you're tracking your character's growth, planning your next adventure, or staying connected with your community's ongoing story, the app helps maintain that sense of excitement and connection that makes West Marches campaigns so special.
It's important to note that this tool isn't about changing how you actually play your games, it's about enhancing everything that happens around the table. Your dice rolls, your roleplay, your creative problem-solving, and your collaborative storytelling remain exactly as they should be. This is simply here to handle the logistics so you can focus on what really matters: the adventure.
Meet the Developer
Hi, I’m Mikael, a developer with over 20 years in software and 8 years in tabletop RPGs. I live in Sweden with my dog and bunny, my faithful coding companions.
I'm jumping directly from another passion project: freshcutgrass.app, an encounter builder and manager designed specifically for Daggerheart. It's another tool born from the same philosophy, making the technical side of tabletop gaming more accessible so everyone can focus on the fun.
If you have feedback, suggestions, or just want to say hello, I'd love to hear from you. This project grows and improves through the community it serves, and your input is invaluable in making it the best it can be.
