We were requested to go to an island off of the coast of Zazesspur called Thordentor. We went to a small town and spoke with Leland Armstrong Leadale the 4th, who had requested our assistance in gathering some local herbs. The most important one, was one called a Blightroot. The herbs are frequently used within the town and one of which is the main source of income. Another is an arcane material called Grey Matter. It is a pinkish metal that is highly sought after by the magically inclined for its capabilities of storing ambient magical energy. Leadale said that's what keeps their town afloat. As.. this town is rather special... There are.. some other strange things about the town. We were told that the town is only active at night, as the sun tends to be very dangerous. Something about the sun melting flesh from bone? I am curious to find out what exactly is happening here...
We were given our task and directed to the wilderness nearby. Using my hag eye, I had discovered that there was some kind of intricate high level magical barrier around the dark forest, and another around the island itself. I could not tell what kind of magic it was... it was far too advanced from my scope of knowledge.
We headed into the forest where we encountered a series of plants that came alive and attacked us. We did well to dispatch them and collected the herbs around. Though the one in We also encountered puddles that we got the sense we did not want to step in. Avoiding those and eliminating the shambling mounts, we found a plant creature that held the blightroot. We eliminated it, collected the root, and went back to Leadale.
Side note, there is word, that there may soon be in the works, a teleportation circle in Zazesspur. We may eventually have access back to this town.

Party: Lukan, Kamathariel (Kami). Onics, Venn, Zephyra
Location: Brackenridge
The Syndicate had been requested by Bracklenridge Councilor Brenna Holt to investigate the disappearance of some of their residence following a violent incident and unusual activity in the surrounding woods. Upon arrival, Holt explains the situation further:
We were tasked to find Thomas and investigate the strange circumstances in the woods. A strange mist had been rolling in from the north that had not been the case previously. We were also told about howling and other strange sounds coming from the north, which were not common around these parts as well.
We decided to speak with Harl to get his perspective of the situation. The information that he provided corroborated with what Holt had told us. Zephyra healed Harl's wounds. He seemed surprised. It seems, Brackenridge doesn't get very many magically inclined people coming through.
Our next objective was to go and investigate the woods and the mist. We entered the woods and began to look around. We spotted a large oddly-shaped boar that we identified as a wereboar. Other monsters came out and attacked us. It was a difficult fight, but we dispatched them.
After recollecting ourselves, we followed a lead that led us to a large building- The Arclen Field Institute. The place was in shambles. A massacre had happened there. Blood everywhere, research strewn about. As we were investigating, we were attacked by two horrible abominations. One, was this fleshy multi-mouthed thing. Another, a conglomeration of body and spirit. We fought them off and eliminated them. Once things settled, we gathered as much information as we could. Our discover revealed that there were researchers that were abducting people that showed signs of lycanthropy. They experimented on them, forcing them to transform and revert and recording how long, and memory retention. They were torturing these people. Eventually their experimentation became too much, and their containment faltered. The experiments escaped. Some of the researchers were able to escape with some of their research, but many never made it out of the institute.
We found Tomas barely alive, but we managed to save him. He explained to us what happened to him, which matched the researcher's journals we had found. We told him that both Elira and Harl were alive and Tomas agreed to go back to Brackenridge, though he asked us to not let him hurt anyone else if he changes again. Something difficult for us to ensure, but some of us will most likely return to Brackenridge to check up on them from time to time.
