Bri, Shev, Surx, and I were summoned once again -- and Solia for the first time -- to the aid of Captain Aurora, of the good ship Cutlass, under the allegiance of the Mistbourne. Today, we were sent to a stormwracked island called the Serpent's Fang to track down a crew of Darktide pirates, hells-bent on bringing back Joturr, a mighty ancient sea-god intent on drowning the world forever.
The thing about traveling to a stormwracked island is that it is wracked with storms. The Cutlass was tossed about like a rag doll, and sustained heavy damage. We disembarked and set sail in a tiny rowboat for the last leg of the journey to the island. Along the way, we were beset by a poorly-disguised siren and her crew of merrows, huge fish-creatures that several of us have dealt with before. We dispatched them handily and, having searched a nearby shipwreck, continued on to the island. We fought our way through jungles and clouds of insects and biting winds, did battle with corrupted walking trees, traversed a network of portals and traps, and destroyed what would otherwise have been a puzzle -- a simple thing, merely putting a series of phrases in order to form a Darktide prayer to open one of the portals, but Bri didn't have the patience for that, and she just punched it until it opened anyway.
At last, we came to the final room in the little portal network where a small group of kuo-toa were supporting the pirate captain in opening a great portal to the Elemental Plane of Water. He was very pleased with himself, insisting that it was too late to stop him. Needless to say, we stopped him, and disrupted the ritual that he believed would have drowned the world.
Returning at last to the Cutlass, we were paid and rewarded for our troubles, divided our loot, and returned home.

Weird fish people cult!
Fun mission on the open seas. Me, Yashir, Solia, Bri, and Shev went to the Cutlass because Captain Aurora needed us to investigate a dangerous storm island.
As we approached the island, the ship started rocking violently because of the storm, and Shev, a bunch of pirates, and the goat all got launched off the boat. Nobody died, so it wasn’t that bad.
After all that, we were sent in a small rowboat, but before reaching the island, there was this siren making a very poor attempt to lure us into a trap. Didn’t work. I saw through her bullshit instantly. She attacked anyway and called some of those fish freaks we always see in the Delimbiyr River.
Other than me getting charmed, paralyzed, and almost drowning, the fight was easy and we killed her.
Looking through the shipwreck nearby, we found a dead Dark Tide guy. He had a letter on him — basically him realizing the captain had doomed them and that following him had been the wrong choice.
We reached the island and started exploring. We found some weird berries and a strange flower trap where another Dark Tide guy had died. I volunteered to grab his bag and threw myself in there. The flowers were naturally a trap, of course. (I really need to stop throwing myself into places where I know I might die.)
He also had another letter, similar to the first one.
Then the forest itself started closing in on us. Yes, literally closing. So we had to run while dealing with a bunch of obstacles. We managed to escape and found a temple.
Inside, we fought a tree and three vine creatures. I killed two of the vine guys while the others dealt with the rest of the plants.
In the temple, there was a statue with gems for eyes. Shev got scared and left the temple while I was examining it. While doing that, I activated a trap, but managed to dodge out of the way. Yashir, on the other hand, got struck in the face by lightning.
Nothing too serious happened after that. We went deeper into the temple, Bri solved a puzzle, and beneath the temple we found a guy invoking a whirlpool using some crystals.
We killed him and his fish friends without much trouble. Well… the fish people kept throwing stuff at Solia, so I guess it was troublesome for her.
Weird whirlpool guy dead, fish People cult dealt with, and we returned home after saving the day.
