Once an occult researcher, fascinated above all with aberrations, the Far Realm, and the knowledge hidden beyond the boundaries of mortal understanding, Malachir devoted his life to study of a way to reach beyond the veil. Eventually, he succeeded, and through a forbidden ritual he opened his consciousness directly to the Far Realm and his mind was flooded with impossible knowledge, alien thoughts and concepts it was never meant to comprehend. The experience permanently warped him, awakening strange psychic abilities and leaving fragments of eldritch knowledge buried within his mind.

It was a breakthrough. If anything, surviving it only strengthened his conviction that there was far more to discover. Unbeknownst to him, however, his gaze into the Far Realm may not have gone unnoticed, and somewhere within those impossible depths, something vast may have turned its attention toward him. Now his research is more difficult and more expensive, requiring resources, protection and access that an independent scholar could rarely obtain. Thus his attention turned to the Verdant Legion, hoping that in exchange for his service, they might provide him with resources he needs to continue delving into the eldritch abyss.
