Math served as a licensed intermediary for the Fey Courts. He was a broker of contracts, debts, and favors between mortals, fey, and other interested parties, specialized in translating desire into binding terms, ensuring that every bargain, no matter how small, carried weight.
However, his success relied on a dangerous habit of bending agreements to their absolute limits. He skimmed value from transactions, exploited ambiguities, and occasionally structured deals so that multiple parties unknowingly relied on the same promised outcome. This technically sound, but increasingly reckless approach eventually led to a catastrophic agreement in the heart of Hebutown. The contract itself was flawless in wording, but its execution triggered a chain of conflicting obligations across multiple clients, some of them powerful, others far worse than powerful. With knives out for him, and no time to prepare, he secured passage as a stowaway hidden inside a barrel of rum aboard a departing ship with the simple plan to lie low, relocate, and begin again. Instead, the ship was attacked by pirates and ultimately wrecked along the shores of the Fettering Peninsula. He survived only through the sheer luck and the buoyancy of the barrel that he managed to empty during the sailing, yet now is stranded on the dangerous shores, looking for any chance to survive, and start again.
