Are you worthy of the Golden Frog's Favor?! Do you think you have what it takes to overtake the city itself in this thrilling display of skill? While others dance would you like to... RACE?
NOTE: I'm posting this adventure as a v.1, v.2 and v3, so if needed we'll split the race into two sessions. More peeps can participate this way.
Registration for the Leap Frog Race are open! Gather your allies and face the challenge!
Registration: this even will be a part of the Frog Dance festival. To register for the race you need a group of 5 players - you will be racing in teams! The adventure will be split into PbP preparations (to set up some hazards on the racetrack) and VC sessions of the race itself.
As of now I'm not putting a limit on players (check How We Will Play to manage your expectations). I'll adjust this adventure accordingly if we have few/abundance of players. Either way, fun and excitement is sure to ensue!
How we will play: We'll do the PbP preparations in our own time, but the racing itself will take place in VC sessions. There is no limit for player participants (as of now) but do remeber you'll race individually, member by member! You are welcome to spectate the race, but only the currently-racing players will take active part in the game.
Time: the racing will take place during the Frog Dance Festival
Rewards: bruises, fatigue, eternal glory, and possibly a statue of a golden leap frog
Rules of the Race:
Teams of 5 register to participate. One brave samurai from each team will race at a time, untill all participants had their chance for glory.,
Each team is allowed to set up obstacles, traps, and intercations on the race's route (below). You can prepare anything to stifle your opponents leaps, although any lethally endangering obstacles are strictly forbidden! Similarly, there are no sharp arm allowed in the race - although you can take your trusty bo, or bokken with you.,
Each team will be given their own porcelain frog - each participant will race with the frog on their person. If your team's frog is destroyed you will suffer a point penalty!,
After each of the team's has ran the race, a victor will be revealed, and a statue of the Golden Leap Frog given to the winning team.,
The race is split into three sections, divided by braving the rivers between districts:
The Shrines Scramble- our race will start with the participants being blessed at the fortunes temple. From there they will need to brave The Shrine District, up to the riverbank. Be sure to encounter some... esoteric challenges on your way!
The Eastbank Extertion - after crossing the river participants will race throughout the Eastbank Downs District, with obstacles requiering a display of atleticism and swiftness.
The Market Madness - the last part of the race goes through the Indigo Market. Note which way you're going! It is easy to get lost on the sprawling market...,
Each team will gather points: 3 for each memeber that finishes first, 2 for second, and 1 for third. Possible penalty of -5 points if your Porcelain Frog gets destroyed. Afer all team members have raced, the one with the most points will win a Golden Leapfrog Statue!
