When Crab say that the mountain does not fall, they may not have a bushi like Hida Yūmi in mind, but the affable giant certainly embodies the phrase. Standing a foot or more taller than the average Rokugani woman and a nightmare for tailors with her broad shoulders and muscular frame, Yūmi quite literally stands out in a crowd... and struggles to enter many doorways. She wears her black hair fairly short, though long enough to draw back into a ponytail befitting an unmarried maiden. Her eyes are a pale grey-blue, and often wide and sparkling with delight or mischief. If one pays particularly close attention, they may also notice that Yūmi is often fidgeting with something; her sleeves, an omamori, anything to hand really.

Charming and friendly in almost all circumstances, Yūmi is even a friend to most animals she encounters, and is regularly accompanied by a river otter that's been known to hide inside her clothing or armour.
