Previous Section: Playing the Game
Everything beyond this initial section on this page is considered to be written in character, unless put in parentheses ( ). This is the document your PC will sign and agree to upon joining the syndicate. Breaking of these rules will result in consequences that are IN CHARACTER ONLY. These consequences may include fines, formal apologies, and loss of Syndicate renown. The syndicate grounds are not closely monitored by any means, though there may be NPC staff in the busier areas, who may snitch if they catch any rule breaking. The goal for these rules is always immersion!
Neutral Ground
The Syndicate is considered a neutral ground from any politics.
If you commit crimes outside of the Syndicate, it will neither protect you nor turn you in. We do not disclose membership status to any outside queries.
(OoC - if guards from Loudwater come in looking for you, the syndicate staff won't confirm you are actually a member here. But they won't stop the guards from arresting you if they see you on the grounds.)
Be Professional on Jobs
You're going to be working with people from all different walks of life, factions, beliefs, and morals. While you may not like your fellow mercenaries, you need to be able to work together. No putting your team mates in danger, withholding assistance, or petty squabbles on jobs.
We are all here to make money. Don't burn any of those bridges for your fellow Syndicate members. (OoC - see the section on "Renown" for how this works)
Property Damage
Any major structural damage to the Syndicate grounds may result in a fine to cover repairs. The Syndicate is insured against normal wear and tear from random raiders, monsters, explosions, or other common situations that may befall our facilities.
However, if you are responsible for bringing these situations to our doorstep, you are responsible for paying for the damage.
Free Food, Drink, and Boarding
Ao protect the fool that gets between a hungry mercenary and their fill. But once you've had your fill, leave some of the stock for the rest of The Syndicate.
Don't kill each other or our workers
Killing each other is bad for business. The sparring grounds are warded to prevent death, but no where else within the syndicate grounds are.
Additionally, killing workers is also bad for business.
Hostility and Retaliation
We're all mercenaries here, things are going to get rough. If you're gonna get rough with each other, know your own strength and stick to your own size, figuratively.
If you can't for whatever reason, call for a ref to ensure a fair fight. Refs are not trained therapists, they are kobolds; if the issue is one of feelings, figure it out between yourselves.
(Feel free to ping @ref if you want assistance figuring out parameters for a fair fight; or it can be handwaved if all participants agree on the terms OoC. These exhanges can also count as competitions. Check out DTP Activity - Competing for more info. The OoC purpose of this is to prevent high ranks from just flattening the low ranks; and low ranks from antagonizing the high ranks)
Guests and Pets
Any being you bring to the syndicate is your responsibility. Don't let them become a problem, and don't hoard animals in your room. If they become a problem, they may be subject to being eaten.
Soul Directive:
fill out here what you would like done if you should perish; ressurection, final wishes, etc:
(When you submit your finished character on westmarches.games, there is a "Soul Directive" section to fill out, this is for both IC and OoC knowledge)
The Glassfang Sydnicate is not responsible for any damage inflicted upon contracted mercenaries; including but not limited to: death; dismemberment; disembowelment; decapitation; defenestration; disintegration; emotional, spiritual, metaphysical, mental or physical trauma; maiming; incineration; baneful transfiguration; mockery- vicious or otherwise; tooth decay; retroactive timeline deletion; involuntary deification; exsanguination; implosion; hair loss; unexpected aging or de-aging; fatal incontinence; etc
