TGFS DM Handbook
Previous Section: DM Events
Custom Adventures are the brainchildren of our DMs! This section is meant to serve as guideline to support both immersion and balance within the server. Custom adventures should still be thematic and fit the setting as a whole.
Custom adventures may be played as a one-shot; or part of a larger plot.
Before you can run your custom adventure, you must have it reviewed by our head DMs. To do so, please create a private thread in #dm-request; and then ping @head-dm in your thread.
All submissions must include the following:
Please submit custom adventures at least 72 hours prior to the scheduled adeventures; to ensure head DMs have time to review it.
To help encourage narrative and story telling we have created a system that rewards PC's for following plots by giving higher tier rewards by the end of them.
“Someone needs something done.”
“There’s more going on here than we thought.”
“We’re choosing to pursue this.”
"Time to save the world!"
This is where major rewards live

All treasure should be based off the rank of the lowest level PC
Treasure refers to any gold, wealth, or items your party may stumble upon. All rewards are contingent on the party finding them in the world, or successfully completing the mission(s) that grant the rewards.
For any gold or sellables are given out for an adventure, you must roll to see how much total gold may be earned on the adventure. To do this, use the custom command in #dm-rolls -adventure gold [lowest rank] [link to adventure] The gold that is rolled is split evenly between all party members.
The DM is responsible for narratively determining where this gold comes from during the adventure. Some examples include: NPC payment, dropped from monsters, or found out in the world.
Immersion Tip!
When an NPC hires the Syndicate, they pay the party directly. Keep in mind, it takes a rich person to hire out high ranked adventurers, so their lifestyles should be projected as such. The NPC pay range values in the table above is reflective of these lifestyles.
| Adventurer Rank | Lifestyle of contractee |
|---|---|
| Novice - Initiate | Squalid, Poor, or Modest |
| Apprentice - Journeyman | Modest or Comfortable |
| Expert - Master | Comfortable or Wealthy |
| Senior - Veteran | Wealthy or Aristocratic |
| Elder | Aristocratic + |
Each PC may gain a number of minor tier magic item per adventure equal to the stage of the adventure + 1. There should be an equal number of minor tier magic items to split between the party.
These rewards should be immersive and make narrative sense for how the party could come across them.
What minor tier magic items you can give out depends on the lowest rank member in your party. To select items, refer to Magic Item Tables, and select or roll from the table allowed for the rank.
If you are unsure what minor tier items to give out, you can randomly roll on the table either before the adventure, or at the time of the adventure for maximum suspense! If rolling for items at the time of the session, be sure to note it in your custom adventure submission, and to roll it in the adventure's thread in #adventure-listings.
The Random Roller Guide in #server-info has all the commands for rolling random loot
This is a major sum of gold that can be found or given to the party for completing such a major task.
Each PC may gain 1 major tier magic item per Stage 3 Adventure.
Before granting any renown, you must inform the Lore Aspect's Lorekeeper(s). If a Lore Aspect does not have a Lorekeeper, consider becoming its first!
Although Renown is a quantifiable OOC currency it can have several IC representations. Some examples are: Medals, Letters, Titles, and priviledges
See the "Renown" section on page for more information on Renown.
These are rewards that serve to move the plot forward, and unlock potetially bigger story lines. Some examples of plot based rewards are: Maps, NPC access, or McGuffins. Any reward that does not impact anything outside of your adventures or plot is considered a plot based reward.
Blessings and charms can be given as rewards at the end of a plot. See the 2024 DMG for more information on supernatural gifts.
