A kobold approached us to hire our group rather than having an actual client. Apparently the others had already been involved with something similar previously but now fighting something called War. We went to the location we were to protect or at least intervene from the incoming threat.
After minor discussion, others scouted out to find where the army was coming from. I stayed back to go over my spells to confirm which ones would be proper to use for handling an army.
The siege on the Syndicate months prior still weighs on my mind. But we're all stronger than back then.
I set up a fortress as well as symbol, using my own expenses and components to do so. I had a fair bit or preparation to do. Giving an Abjuration wizard time to prepare is a dangerous combination.
Perhaps I can convince Thrax to allow me to ward the Syndicate in the event of future issues.
We planned to lock Yashir in a Wall of Force with the horseman that we assumed was War and the rest of us handled its minions. A variety of flaming skulls, skeletons, death knights, and wasps. It was a hard fought battle but we succeeded in the end.

We were teleported by a k9bold from the syndicate, this guy named Pokémon I believe. Says Okay a LOT. It is a bit unsettling. He sent us to the same banshee again and she wasn't aware we were neing sent. She did come and assist our preparations for the oncoming creature named War. Our directive was to defend the ruins and in doing so Salviron erected this insane fortress. That wizard is fucking powerful. I dont think we would have fared as well had it not been for his magic.
I was able to slow quite a few, also slam these damned flaming skulls. I had activated my crown of stars for the first time and had almost forgotten they were there. Those things do significant damage and it doesnt compete with my other main action. This might actually make me rethink my metabolic as quicken spell is not as needed with that and my ability to cast sacred flame about 5 times a day as a bonus as well. I had been pondering the skill that allows me to extend the range on my spells. That shall be my next choice given the opportunity. I feel limited in large areas and want to project my storm further out than 60ft.
Regardless, everyone got some major hits, Briar was fantastic but went down. Yashir... I cannot say how much that man has done. His bravery and ability to stay up and not get hit in a fight is legendary in itself. Nothing could touch him. I have learned from him and also am much harder to hit with my cloak and shield as well.
All in all, we were able to take the creature down and save the place. Unsure what is in store for us next but I am proud to fight along side each and every one of them.

In a first for me, the Syndicate was called upon by... the Syndicate. I do not mean that Thrax sent us to perform some task, nor even that a member rallied a team; instead, one of the kobolds -- the one I've dubbed the OK Kobold -- apparently took an interest in our last job and decided, of his own volition, to do a follow-up.
I was... hesitant about the entire situation, which was demonstrably not OK on many counts. Still, the OK Kobold offered us coin and magic items, though I'll not put to parchment my suspicions as to where he acquired them where Thrax can so easily read it. We took the job. A tenday or so ago, we had been called to face a headless horseman called Conquest. Today, myself, Solia, Surx, Tova, and Salviron were sent to face his brother, War -- the second, it seems, of four.
We enlisted the help of the ghostly woman who had previously enlisted us to deal with Conquest; she obliged us by providing some traps to set up the battlefield, as we had advance warning of War's approach. But it was Salviron's magic tower and illusion-work that really set the battlefield in our favor. We funneled the enemy to a single point, and each of us were able to play to our strengths.
The horseman was the last to appear, of course, but even after having spent several long minutes fighting off his horde of minions, he was no match for us. Salviron stunned his horse and so dismounted him, and I held him off while Solia, Tova, and Surx rained hell down upon his head. When he perished, so too did the skeletons he commanded.
I expect the OK Kobold will be summoning us again -- twice. For the time being, though, this part of the job is done.
