A job for the Lord's Alliance.

Teren, a now-dead scout found by the prior team, field notes were mostly missing but what survived pointed to an individual by the name of Tavian Rusk as the next link to go speak to.

Rusk is a city freight clerk, a possible lead that may be able to tell us more about the shipments that these strangely intelligent, mutated trolls have been attacking caravans or these missing components.

These magical components, specifically for the defenses of Neverwinter, have been going missing for two or three weeks. A few things have been going missing 'here and there.' Merys Vein (spelling), a Lord's Alliance intelligence officer, has more information of what the components do.

We've been teleported to a private room in the Moonstone Mask. Merys Vein awaits us. Three suspicious shipments have been put through Tavian Rusk's office. Missing materials include:

- Planar grounding stones
- Electrum conductors
- Crystal matrices
- Silvered focus rods

Rusk knows where the second transfer goes. Do not arrest him until the destination is confirmed.

Tavian's disappeared from his normal routine. Most recent activity places him at the freight district, dock side.

TASK: Find Tavian. Keep him alive. Determine where components went. Recover evidence to tie the responsible party to the crimes.

__Tavian, physical description:__ human man. Freight clerk, short, heavy set with warm brown skin and thick curly hair, black. Hang in his face. Wears round spectacles.

Unknown if he has priors.

Whoever has access to the defensive stores (multiple city employees and contractors), Tavian's office handled the transfers of equipment that went missing.

Heading to the church of Mystra near the docks to inquire if any priests have seen Tavian. As we approach, there seems to be a bubble of some kind arcane magic around the temple. There's a - second image? A translucent copy? Everything is duplicated and set apart, some crack in the wards.

Rokka knows the ward and we manage to save the two trapped in this shifted reality, and were directed to the docks.

Orri was surrounded. Rokka disappeared into an alley with what sounded like too many boots. I woke up covered in blood, Rokka looking up at me in fear, or shock, I don't know.

We captured Tavian alive. Notes of what we go on him:
- He falsified six shipments.
- He initially did it for money. He later tried to stop.
- All six shipments eventually passed through the same waterfront warehouse.
- Some components remained there.
- Others were repacked and shipped north.
- He repeatedly heard the word Aegis.

This information will be given to Merys. Everything hurts. The blood's soaked through.

so this lady named captain ilyra venn of the lords alliance wanted us for this weird mission. apparently theres been all these space distortions everywhere around neverwinter and they found the body of this agent, teren aldren, and his badge was weirdly warped. but his notes say he was hunting down leads including this guy named tavian rusk in the city. we talked to another agent when we got there, found out that a bunch of magic ingredients and conduits were going missing. aldrens note originally said keep rusk alive so we can figure out whos stealing what.

cyrus knew a guy in the city for bounty hunting so we followed him and found this whole space distortion (super cool!!!!!) at a mystra altar. the acolyte lady was keeping everyone back but there were two people trapped in there. so i saved the day!!!!!! because errokkadaen is real good with wards and such and i guess i was channeling or something. orri threw me in there to help get the guy out and i think i married him (the guy) (not orri) (unless?) (lol). the contact pointed us towards the docks of the city so we went thataway.

a bunch of thugs had our guy, the rusk guy! so we intervened. orri almost died. then wilson died. :( cyrus went all beast mode? the fight was kinda scuffed i mean we split up immediately but like what choice did we have but it worked out so its okay! wilson got better. and rusk told us what he knew! theres some warehouse theyre shipping things out of. seems like its this big smuggling situation and theyre shipping things north (luskan? further??). all these ward things and rusk got real into it? like how gambling is wrong but you get addicted. he got us this crate of real good stuff including a bunch of spellwrought tattoos that are kinda protective in nature in my opinion which is cool. oh yeah there might be animated armors and something called an aegis up that way so good luck to you suckers who go up there. its me. im suckers.
