Ipamanondis (ih-pam-uh-NON-dis) has served for a couple of years as a guard, specializing in archery. He has used his free time to try to develop a career as a musician and entertainer. Unfortunately, his dreams of having his own troupe or being the star performer have not come to pass. He has not taken the failure well, and he has been keeping to the bare minimum to do his duties. Disappointed with his recent performance, his commander recommended Ipamanondis for duty in an arena or gauntlet to teach him a lesson about his glory seeking.
Victorious (along with his group) in the arena, Ipamanondis received some accolades for his drum play and versatile use of short bow, shortsword, and longbow. Using this as an excuse to be rid of Ipamanondis, his commander released him from duty to “pursue his new career.”
Ipamanondis is a little over 6 feet tall and a bit out of shape. He has cropped, dark brown hair and brown eyes. From the stubble on his sand-colored face, he hasn't shaved in a few days. He wears a suit of scale armor and carries both short and longbows. Although he seems to be an archer, he bears two small swords and has a shield on his back.
Let the games begin!
Entering one by one each with his or her own flourish were Razrorg, Thokar Stonefury, Martin, Alaire Wrede, Ul-Ra'Maz (The Maz), and Ipamanondis.
For their first challenge, the gladiators faced four zombies and an ogre zombie. Four prisoners were tied to posts around the arena. The group was unable to prevent two of the prisoners from being killed, but The Maz ensured they did not rise as zombies. While Thokar and Alaire kept the ogre zombie entertained, Razrorg, Martin, and Ipamanondis killed the four zombies. Then, the group focused on the ogre zombie until it was put down.
For the gladiators' second challenge, the arena was flooded, they crewed a boat, and three sea spawn attacked them. The first sea spawn to move in and attack the boat was rushed and killed by several of the gladiators. The second sea spawn grabbed The Maz with its tentacles, pulled him into the water, and submerged him, attempting to drown him. The Maz cut himself free and swam to the boat. Alaire blasted the third sea spawn with holy light, slaying it with one spell. The gladiators swarmed the second sea spawn, slaying it quickly.
In the third challenge, the arena was arranged into a jungle environment with a large pile of stones. A saber-toothed tiger waited restlessly on the pile of stones. It was flanked by two lions. The first lion charged, driving Alaire towards the middle platform where Thokar, Martin, and Ipamanondis had positioned themselves. Ipamanondis shot the tiger with his longblow, slowing it. The second lion charged Razrorg. Martin hurried to his aid, healing him. The tiger rushed at Thokar, who struck a solid blow against it. Razrorg killed one lion, and with a mighty smite, Martin delivered a coup de gras to the tiger. The gladiators made short work of the third lion.
The crowd was thrilled with the high-pace violence and bloodshed, lauding the victorious gladiators.
