Bouchard was born into a thriving merchant family. After spending a short time as a child in a city known for its merchants, horse breeders, and cavalry, his family sent him away to become a scholar and mage.

When the students at his academy were drafted to house and serve soldiers, Bouchard spent considerable time learning martial skills. Before he resumed his studies, Bouchard’s father went missing. He traced his father’s path to the Belt of Tirva where the trail abruptly disappeared.

Now, he hires himself out for contract work with merchants and merchant companies as a guard, keeping watch for signs of his father and continuing his study of magic.

Bouchard is about 5'11" and fit from his martial training and love of riding horses. He has reddish-bronze skin tones, and his hair and well-trimmed beard and mustache are dirty blond. He has a small hook-shaped dueling scar under his left eye. He has a pair of recent claw mark scars running along his left jaw and cheek. He bears religious tattoos from several deities.
