Jarek spent most his time in temples dedicated to Ātreshan reading tomes and scrolls maintained in them. He would also scribe his own scrolls and tomes based on information he has obtained throughout his travels around Sarzalom. Hearing about current events going on in Misru he traveled to the Oasis temple. One late night he was reading some texts about the history of Misru and current events and upon returning the tomes he discovered a dead body upon which he was discovered by the guard and accused of murder. He was then seared with the mark of the shunned.
