Background: Rickert knows little of Chateauclair, much less the world. He frequently goes into long hibernation-like states, only awakened by alarum calls, thrusting him into combat situations he has no context for. He recently developed a habit of sleeping underwater after acquiring an item allowing him to do so. Rickert met Kannan on the day of the eclipse, and was quite mortified to witness his death that very same day. He became even more disturbed by the leadership of Chateauclair granting asylum to the monsters, Phoenix and Khulgir, as well as all other tieflings. He has likely lost interest in defending his homeland by this point.

Appearance: Rickert is a rugged elf with long brown hair and ragged facial hair. He is quite dirty, relying on the same set of equipment for many decades. He looks quite unwieldly when traveling, carrying two hand crossbows, a heavy crossbow, and a longbow, as well as enough ammunition for all of them.

Personality: Rickert is skittish and unsociable. He makes his money as a mercenary, while living as a vagrant. Rickert prefers fighting on the backlines far away from any people. He fervently clutches his heavy crossbow when in danger.

Other Details: A running gag for Rickert is that, due to him only joining alarum sessions, he has had zero context for any of the overarching story in the region. He is constantly confused and terrified by the chaotic events he's thrown into.
