Kuchinashi has named herself after the Gardenia Flower, which in the hanakotoba holds the meaning of "Secret Love". Perhaps an apt name for a woman who works as an oiran.

While slightly below average height, she has a graceful build with a generous bust and hip, although she frequently covers up in elaborate enough clothing that this is, at best, hinted at. Her hair is dark as midnight and her eyes the kind of peculiar shade that seems to change a little depending on the light, though a stormcloud grey is the most common.

Her face is fine-featured delicate, and her lips in rose-petal pink - at least before the make-up. And as an Oiran, she favours elaborate and layered garb in a number of bright colours and patterns, and her geta have three tall teeth for her to wander about.

Her 'civilian' garb tends to be far more muted, and her accessories and hair far less flamboyant.

She is often followed by a large dog, whom she refers to by the loving nickname of 'Daifu'. He's a good boy. Possibly the best boy.
