Baatar is a young man, distinctly foreign looking. His looks strongly favor the Ujik that his ancestors descended from. He has thick, dark hair styled intricately ending in a braid down his back.

He often wears the colors of the Unicorn, accented with foreign trinkets and designs acquired in his home of Khanbulak. He also carries an intricately designed scabbard for his scimitar laden with bright colors and foreign patterns. ​​​

Raised in the city of Khanbulak, Baatar grew up as a free-spirit. He often roamed the plains and steppes nearby his home, mingling with the Ujik who still dwelled nearby, learning of his people's ancestral ways.

He was taught the way of the Bushi by a local Utaku sensei, learning the ways of court and of the yojimbo. Unfortunately his sensei also had a tendency for gambling, often bringing along Baatar as his attendant.

It was on one of these such escapades that his sensei and him were caught, having end up at a loss of money. In penance he was sent away from his ​​open and free range hometown to the City of the Rich Frog to act as the yojimbo to a local samurai's daughter.
