Minx requested the party’s help gathering meat for a funeral rite scheduled for the following week, requiring two giant elk and three boars. Drav, Theresa, Yulrac, Zamrud, and Fae ventured into the forest, where they found predator tracks and proceeded cautiously after leaving their wagon. Theresa attempted to use a command spell on a giant elk, but it failed and the elk fled; the party gave chase. They discovered a group of five boars and one elk, all visibly frightened and staring into the bushes, sensing a hidden threat.
Following Zamrud’s suggestion to secure the boars first, Drav charged into a rage, his eyes turning red, and killed an elk with his glaive while thanking the animal for its sacrifice. As the party loaded the wagon, two beasts emerged from the bushes, seized two boars, and retreated. The group continued hunting, finding another elk and boar, but were interrupted by a glitchy, unnatural roar that caused the animals to charge. The party fought and killed the hostile creatures, then pursued the two beasts that had stolen the boars, identifying them as displacer beasts. Drav landed the final blow on the last displacer beast, and the party collected both bodies for potential use.
Upon returning, Minx rewarded each party member with 400 gold. Drav received a cloak of protection, Theresa obtained a ruby, and Fae was given an elk heart and the displacer beasts’ tentacles. With the required meat secured and additional materials gathered, the funeral rite preparations were complete, ensuring Minx’s friend would be properly honored.
While patrolling near a village, Drav and the party encountered Zeke, a frail old man who explained that his mute grandson Timmy was being bullied and had been dragged into the northern forest. Drav carried Zeke on his back to the forest, insisting that protecting citizens was the duty of the Dawn Guard. The group found Timmy surrounded by three boys kicking him; after warnings and a warning shot from Abdul, the bullies panicked and fled when Taldrin ordered them to bring their fathers.
Timmy was comforted and assured of his safety by the Dawn Guard. Zeke reunited with his grandson, and Drav documented the incident for reporting. As the group prepared to return to Dawnport, armed adults emerged from the bushes—brought by the three bullies—carrying improvised weapons, with two leaders directing them. Drav identified himself as a Dawnport Guard and ordered them to stand down; they ignored the warning and attacked. The party fought back, defeating all the thugs, with Taldrin landing the final blow.
The three bullies, still hiding, attempted to flee but surrendered when Drav commanded them to stop, begging not to be jailed. Drav informed them that Inspector Dorn would investigate and that they must answer for their role in the armed assault. Despite Zeke’s plea to release the boys, Drav maintained that their actions had led to a deadly confrontation and that consequences were necessary. The bullies were taken into custody to be brought to Dawnport under Dorn’s authority.
Drav arrived at the Barnacle Inn for dinner and met Pax, Chromii, Nyxara, and Clothilde. Herschel approached the group, explaining that bandits hired to steal his hidden relic had ambushed him a day earlier and kidnapped three of his companions. He described the relic of Zhalthaar, showed images of Anita, Rill, and Firollis, and used locate object to pinpoint the relic’s location at a bandit hideout east of Dawnport.
The party infiltrated the hideout, ambushed two bandits to gather information, and learned that the captives were held in three directions: one to the northwest, one to the north, and one to the south. In the main dining hall, the group fought multiple bandits and their leader Strongarm, defeating and knocking him out for capture. During the battle, a suspicious masked figure was spotted among the bandits. In total, 10 bandits were killed and 18 remained alive to be sent to Dawnport jail to serve their sentences.
Back at the Barnacle Inn, Herschel was overjoyed that his friends were safe but refused to take the relic back, not wanting to bear the responsibility for it again. Chromii claimed the relic, and upon touching it experienced a vision: two figures placing matching red and blue relics into corresponding altars to open a barrier, revealing something enormous beyond before the vision ended. The session concluded with this ominous revelation about the relic’s purpose.
The party investigated two missing-person notices that appeared connected: Miriam Woods’s husband, Thomas, and Jane Doe’s boyfriend were both described as hunters with similar features. The group traveled into the forest and found Thomas trapped in a tree while wolves surrounded him. We defeated the wolves and safely escorted him back to Dawnport.
In town, Miriam initially celebrated Thomas’s return but became angry after hearing Jane Doe’s claim. Thomas explained that he only knew Jane Doe because she bought animal skins from his hunts, and he denied being her boyfriend.
Y used Command on Jane Doe during the confrontation, causing her to halt temporarily. Drav warned Y that casting spells in Dawnport might violate local rules, but chose not to report him because he had assisted with Thomas’s rescue; when the spell ended, Jane Doe fled feeling horified.
