Weird farmer hire Bonk. Go see farm with many undead. Bonk almost drown. Kill one zombie.

Party headed towards Pak Ghani's farm.

What actually happened?

Arriving at the farm, other villagers were protesting the undead labour force. Bonk almost drowned but the distraction let the others investigate. Thanks to them, they found that Pak Ghani was charmed and controlled on top of the operation being illegal. Pak Ghani was arrested and sent to the guild.

What Happened

Our journey began with Pak Lang requesting the Guild's assistance regarding a troubling matter at Pak Ghani's home. Upon arriving at the village, we found an angry crowd gathered outside the property. Rather than allowing fear to turn into violence, we spoke with the villagers and convinced them to step aside while we uncovered the truth ourselves.

Within the estate, we discovered an unsettling sight: undead labourers carrying out work in silence. While investigating, Bonk somehow managed to fall into the water. Obiana and I rushed to help, yet despite our efforts, neither of us could pull him free before the others intervened. Fortunately, the mishap served as an unexpected distraction, allowing the rest of the party to continue searching the grounds unhindered.

Our investigation revealed that Pak Ghani had been charmed and manipulated into overseeing the undead workforce, all while operating outside the law. With the source of the problem uncovered, the undead were dealt with peacefully whenever possible. Only the final one met a less graceful end, as Bonk enthusiastically introduced it to the business end of his weapon several times over. In the end, Pak Ghani was taken into custody and escorted back to the Guild, bringing the affair to a close without the needless destruction I had feared.

Personal Note

Not every problem is solved by striking first. Today reminded me that asking questions can uncover truths hidden beneath fear and anger. I still find death a solemn thing, even when it walks again, and I was grateful that most of the restless souls found peace without further violence... though I suspect Bonk would have preferred otherwise.

What actually happened?

Pak Lang had told us that Pak Ghani has been raising undead as farmers. Of course the villagers didn't like that as Pak Ghani's method as Pak Ghani was using the corpses of their friends and families. The reason why Pak Ghani was allowed to this was because he had completely sorted it legally. So, the party was sent to go investigate the area and stop Pak Ghani's operations.

When we arrived, we found a bunch of villagers protesting at Pak Ghani's gates. Thankfully thanks to Viliarra they were able to calm down and be persuaded to stop protesting. Pak Ghani welcomed us all in. When we entered, we saw the undead working as farmers. Pak Ghani showed us all the legal papers which seemed legal, as long as there were 20 undead total.

We decided to look around and we found a shed that Pak Ghani wasn't willing to open. Thanks to Bonks distraction of falling into the river Takashi manages to tell Tailor to check it out. Thanks to Tailor turning into a spider and flying with their familiar into the shed they managed to find an unofficial document, describing what Pak Ghani wanted, which was to get more money by replacing workers with undead workers.

Pak Ghani then notices Tailor is gone and tries to find where Tailor went and luckily thanks to Penguino, Tailor managed to not be spotted. But before Pak Ghani left, he had secretly checked a shed before returning to the party. Thanks to River he manages to distract Pak Ghani with some music, letting Takashi grab the tampered soil. Then thanks to Takashi they managed to distract Pak Ghani for longer by making him talk about his son for Tailor to find out that there were 4 other undead in the shed, and that he was trafficking bodies making the operations Illegal.

After Tailor gave Pak Lang the unofficial document the party went over to the Shed and Takashi told Bonk to destroy the window and go in while Obiana held Pak Ghani back from stopping Bonk. The party finds more undead, that tried to attack Bonk but Bonk managed to bonk the undead. Takashi tells Pak Ghani what hes doing is wrong and that his son wouldnt be proud of this. We end up finding out that he was charmed and was being scryed on 24/7 through a magical contract.

Pak Ghani was then sent to the guild for the guild to figure out more on the scrying, with the party explaining the whole situation to the village.
