Chappo is in appearance essentially an upright capybara in fine robes and a delightful hat. He's often seen with a bright smile and friendly demeaner, which matches his personality exactly. Although be careful pushing him around as seen on the edges of your vision while interacting with him is the various animal spirits that have made it their mission to protect this little man, and they are ready to kill.
As for how this came about Chappo was born in a village of similar sentient animal looking people. May have been in the faywild but Chappo has no idea as during his youth Chappo wandered off into the woods to make friends with the non sentient animals and sort of got lost. Very lost. To the point he wandered into multiple dens of predators and powerful spirits, but his affable nature always won out to bring these creature into protecting Chappo. Now he wanders using his incredible(ly terrible) sense of direction, lovable nature and a horde of animal spirits willing to kill when Chappo isn't.
