Following a lead into the literal underworld of Calimport, the Muzad, we searched for a lead. We were pulled into the arena, Shezar made our sponsor, and we cleared the floor with what was thrown at us.

We were able to meet with the head of the Nightwisps who granted us the knowledge that the Sovereign Firtinia of Maryan Saya had hired the Nightwisps to sabotage. The Sovereign Firtinia of Maryan are associated with the marids, the water genie of this region. It seems like the marid are going to make a move at Three Days Festival.

Before we headed to the arena, we looked over the night market and stumbled upon a slave trader. I couldn't do nothing. I promised 2,550 gold to buy 30 of her 50 slaves. I could buy no more. After we won, though, and had an audience, I had the opportunity to... To betray someone who has been nothing kind to me, who, last we interacted, took three Nightwisps prisoner to interrogate them in rather brutal fashion.

... I sold her out. I cannot write how deeply I wish I hadn't needed to.
But because I did, the debt to the slaver was wiped, and with the gold I received back, I turned around and bought the rest of the 20 slaves.
They will all be free now, and with the gold that remains, I will be able to provide them with shelter, even if temporary, and food, opportunities. Deryan might be able to help.

If you had to sacrifice one friend's life for twenty peoples' freedom, would you?

We were teleported to the town of Calimport, sent to open up a teleportation circle for the Syndicate. Immediately we were immersed in the wild nature of the warm city, with automatons aplenty. Cyrus greeted us, and took us to the Muzad. He explained that Deryan Kaya, the world's best artificer, had been framed, and some of her mechanical creations or deliveries had malfunctioned. Apparently, the Night Wisp Family knew of this, and could provide more information... So, that's we were headed down into the underbelly of the city, Muzad, to meet with them.

Upon arriving, Cyrus spoke to Shezar Han and a Werejackal, and we were told of a tournament that was taking place. Hosted by the Night Wisp family, whoever won would get riches and a request granted by the moguls, which is why Shezar Han agreed to sponsor us. He did warn us of Mary, who was apparently the champion of the tournament, though, I wasnt worried. The party made their way over to sign up, and we decided on the team name of "Alvis and The Boys"....

I tried to object, but that is what we settled on.

We passed through all the trials of the gladiatorial combat, defeating Drow and wind creatures, and eventually the 6 armed Mary. The meeting with the Night Wisp Family went well... overall... Cyrus made further agreements with the leader of the organization, and we discovered the next stage in this overarching plot to frame Deryan. I only hope the Three Day's Festival is not a... catastrophic event.
