Members of the Glassfang Syndicate showed Lady Alyth Elendara their mettle in a contest of drinking shots of rollrum--something many of them were not used to. She kept their name in mind when they visited Baldur's Gate and provided their name to the actual owner of the tavern, her son, Alan Alyth.
Curious of what his mother advised him, he is hiring the Syndicate to take care of some business northwards to further prove themselves--and maybe get the Hlath family on board with sponsoring a teleportation circle for them.
