We headed to Shining Falls to meet with our client Ms. Warmtop asking for special ingredients that involved gathering aberrant eyes. She sent us off into the direwood to search for these creatures and kill them in order to take their eyes. We headed out to the woods and came across a few wolves that were eating on a few corpses of elves.
Mimsy and Sylk combined their illusory abilities together and created an illusion to trick the wolves away from the corpses and they completely fell for it. When we snuck around to check them out, we checked over their bodies and found various magic items on them that we ended up being able to keep. Mimsy did say "finders keepers" is the law of the land.
We continued forward, following Sylk through the woods and eventually finding a few creatures that I intend to research later. Some had eyeballs for heads, and one has tentacles with eyeballs sticking out of them. It was outright disgusting in all honesty. It shot these rays out of it and while I was able to fight off the feeling, I did not like the sudden sting I had in my head due to it.

Need Some Eyes
15-16 Mirtul, 1502 DR
In the morning, the Glassfang Syndicate received a contract from Ma'am Warmtop, a halfling herbalist living outside of Shining Falls. She paid our party upfront to retrieve the eyes of aberrations located in the nearby Dire Woods. Jax, Mila, Mimsy, Salviron, and myself, Sylk, all proceeded for the hunt.
Early on, we discovered wolves and their dire counterparts ravaging cadavers. After Mila's familiar scouted ahead, Mimsy and I tricked the wolves into following an illusory rabbit. We searched over the bodies, finding them to be wood elves who had fallen to the teeth of their canine foes. After picking up various magical items they held, we continued further into the woods. Though we promised to return the items if we found the elves' tribe or allies, we never found a trace of either.
Further into the Dire Woods, the trees grew stone-covered. Soon, we located a group of foes- chokers, nothics, and a mindwitness. The fight was tense but won in our favor. I would be pleased to never face another choker again.
After the eyeball harvest, we passed the spot with the fallen wood elves, only to discover they were not there any longer. Mimsy's magic detected a hint of necromancy. Given Ma'am Warmtop warned us to avoid skeletons, it appears someone is in the woods practicing their dark magic. A warning for others who proceed through this area.
Ma'am Warmtop was thankful, provided us with suspicious soup, and promised to hire us for future jobs as needed.

Our team received a simple mission - venture into the Dire Woods and hunt down some Aberrations to deliver their eyes to a old Hafling herbalist. I got to try her tea, I do not think it is exactly up my alley but there are different kinds of it, so maybe I will eventually find my type. The old lady was nice, aside some potential microagressions towards Elves and Dragonborn, but my companions who could be offended - Mimsy, Salviron and Sylk - let them slide.
We were given few instructions to find the Aberrations and what to avoid, like any potential trial of bones (which we did encounter on our way back, possibly of necromantic origin). We ventured int othe forest and avoided a pack of wolves and dire wolves, and found group of Wood Elves slain by them. We took their equipment, with intention to return it in case we find any possible tribesmen or relatives, and to use it in meantime. Pragmatic approach.
Once we did find the Aberrations, we managed to surprise them and engage in a heavy battle. Thankfully we managed to destroy them fast enough, even with reinforcements. Salviron and Jax were in particular extremly dangerous to our foes, and Mimsy saved me and Sylk few times. Sylk took the brunt of enemy offense, but he held his ground, even if he ended covered in alien gore. Upon defeating the creatures, we delivered their eyes to the old lady, hope her medicines will be worth it.
We were hired for this job by one Ms. Warmtop, asking for eyes of aberrations as ingredients. They sent us into the Direwood to find them. On the way, we found a group of wolves were eating the corpses of some elves. Mimsy and Sylk managed to distract them with illusions, drawing them away from the bodies. We checked them over, finding a few magic items on them.
After continuing, we eventually found a group of aberrations, which ended up surprisingly perilous, but with a combination of powerful magics and strong warriors we managed to defeat them and acquire the eyeballs needed.
