A being who followed the lighthouse's beacon from the depths of the astral sea, Baki is a former inhabitant of a dream-like realm. Formerly summoned to an alternate Forgotten Realms, he aided the humans there against an overwhelming undead threat. Nalani would rise the ranks in that realm as a Saint for Ilmater, and do battle against a cabal of necromancers hellbent on revenge against the magisters of Calimshan. Over the course of his decade in this realm, a plot would unfold, involving different evil organizations banding together in the background of a seemingly one dimensional war. Including Shar, Loviatar, Lolth and even Elder Evils at the edge of realm space. Despite his own sponsored strength involving other churches and deities, as well as his friends and new family, he would fail in a final duel against the strongest of the necromancers. In the end however, he was successful in exorcising the bitterness in the being's heart, and instead of falling with the realm he was banished to realm space instead.

With his blessings acting as a shell as his astral self wandered aimlessly, he would naturally drift towards Altharion with the last of his strength depleting at the end. Upon his awakening, Baki's heart would bear resentment, shame and despair for losing it all, and he vowed to never allow such a thing to happen again. With all of this sorrow however, he does not display it, as a former Saint of Ilmater would never let his suffering affect others. Instead, his personality is that of a been-there-done-that old man despite his relative young age. However when the time arises, remnants of his original fury as "St.Nalani, Thrice Martyred" makes itself known.
