Praetoriani of the Dragon - Region locked
Rakhnavari ("Vari") and Kethrasyllaravikha ("Ravi") grew up together as two lives joined almost from the beginning. Vari was born during the Infernal War and began developing draconic traits under the regional influence of Satsil. Ravi, a sapphire dragon, came into Warden Chirt the Dragon's care as an apparently viable egg purchased from an illegal auction, only for Chirt to discover that she was already deteriorating. An emergency magical bond with the already-mutating Vari stabilized her, and Ravi hatched soon afterward.
Raised together in Chirt's enormous, dangerous and deeply unconventional castle, their earliest understanding of themselves began with ours, only gradually developing yours and mine as they learned to be distinct people without becoming less connected. Chirt's lessons, their training and their own failures shaped Vari's belief in challenge, earned accomplishment and allowing others ownership of their struggles, while Ravi developed a stronger certainty in inherent draconic worth.
Both worship Mitra-Satsil. Vari expresses much of her devotion through dance and hopes to enter his priesthood once she believes she is ready to represent the Path of Majesty properly. Ravi shares that aspiration, but sees much less need to prove a worth she already considers inherent. Their different perspectives rarely require resolution; understanding one another does not require agreement.
Raised toward service in the Praetoriani of the Dragon, Vari and Ravi have now joined the order and are about to undertake its first major task. For Vari, it is the first real opportunity to discover whether years of preparation at home have made her ready for the path she intends to choose.
