Laanrin hails from the Brackwild Marsh. In her youth she was sent to Woeswyrd to study religious rites as the second daughter. This kept her out of the wars, praying–often fruitlessly–for deliverance from the Infernal War. She's convinced that her destiny is something greater than the marshlands and her brothers and sisters' efforts to be taken seriously by loftier leadership in places such as Krov's Eye.

Now nearing the end of her 8th decade and still the second daughter, Laanrin heard of the reconstruction of Pozarna Castle and saw an opportunity to prove her quality in the eyes of her family. It also goes without saying that no building of stone can be erected without a dwarf to criticize it. From there to Gildas, in the Cape of Tears, then anward to the Bazagonian archipelago.

She hopes that her training at court will prove sufficient as she wades into the Inquisition affairs of Ascendent Steps with the obstinance of a Magnelandish mule.
