Samira (mostly well known by her online alias 'SphynX') is your average tech-wiz kid who used to spend most of her time online hanging out with friends, playing online games, chatting, designing nano-tech enhancements and hacking the government in order to help the people who were not favoured by the system, you know, the usual...

Unfortunately during one of their group's more extreme stunts (that involved breaking some people out of a high security prison) things went very wrong, with some of the villains that were also held in that facility escaping and almost killing one of her friends in the process. At that point, she used her own tech to save them and made the call to get AEGIS involved, which ended up with her and her friend being taken into custody, while the rest of the group went underground and cut ties with her.

She was released into probation and given a second chance to try to help people in a more actively heroic and legalized way by attending Eclipse while being placed under government surveillance, while her friend took the brunt of it and, after their "recovery", was made part of a different AEGIS program that focus on rehabilitating villainous teens and young criminals.
