Eien is an initial pile of contradictions, he is an Akodo, but his hair is wild and dyed the color of a Lion's mane, like many a Matsu with a ponytail. His clothing is eloquent and colorful like an Ikoma's, but his face is stern like the Akodo's. He carries himself like an Ikoma bard, wearing emotions and passions more readily on his sleeves, but his eyes show that much of it is calculated.

While some might just think him a wild youth, Eien is very particular about his style and does keep a loose thumb on the current fashions. In casual travel he carries his daisho on his hip, and his shamisen on his back, his colors accented by a black and gold silken scarf, the end of which is emblazoned with a roaring lion.
