What happend: Well phbous arrived late to the forest so he missed a bit, but we fought spiders the hug spider came and we ran away from said hug spider.

What actually happened?

Upon arriving the woods with a team of strangers and a drunk paladin leading them, they investigated and caused chaos along the way. They notices a huge swarm of spiders on the trees and found the missing people deep inside the spider cocoons and . After a perilous battle, they have saved the people while fleeing for their lives.

The Silent Woods Notes -

Recently, on our quests, we have fought 5 spiders from the forest. It's all chaotic. But, we manage to defeat them. Viliarra and Obiana almost died. And so do I...

Luckily, we are alive. And by the name of Radahn, I thought we almost died.

Met 3 person, 2 alive, another one didn't make it. Poor soul. May Erdtree bless him.

One of them retire from, another one is currently being cured.

Met a bandit, we left him into the woods. We almost die.

Why we left him, We saw a demon. 8 legged demon. And it's Giant one. We can't fight them, we need to be stronger.

By We, I mean Obiana, Viliarra, River (Drunkard), Jerrod, Kejora and Phobos. We thought Phobos would not be coming, but he did. Just late.

Nevertheless, it's all from me. I hope my next journey will be not too hard.

(Where)

Party was directed to search between the forest area starting two hours north of Dawnport, but less than a cave four hours from Dawnport. Search objectives were 2 woodcutters missing one day ago, and 1 lumberjack missing two days ago.

(Who the party met)

1. The party was introduced to Sir River and his Tressym.
2. Phobus joined the party midway through a fight.
3. An old man who is assumed to be one of the missing woodcutters.
4. An unconscious man, brought to the guild for medication. Also assumed to be one of the missing woodcutters.

(What happened)

The Tressym led the party to an area of the woods littered with cobwebs. Upon investigation of the surrounding cocoons, the party met Subjects 3 & 4 above. The party also found a dead body (estimated dead 2 days ago) that possesses a carpenter's tools - presumed to be the lumberjack.

During the search effort, the party was attacked by a group of 5 spiders. Fighting while escorting subjects 3 & 4 out of the woods, a loud shriek was heard. The party glimpsed a giant spider, escorted by even more spiders, as they were leaving the area. Seeing as the party was already short on resources, a tactical decision to retreat was made.

Kejora's Ballad #1 - A Giant Spider's Ire

The Guild’s command, a quest was laid,

Through northern woods the path was made.

Two hours past Dawnport’s gate they should roam,

Yet no farther than a cave four hours from home.

The VLNS four, steadfast and true,

Obiana, Kejora, Arthus, Viliarra too.

Sir River joined, with drunken guise,

Yet hidden strength and cunning eyes.

Tressym, River's familiar,

Tracked scents with subtle cheer.

Woodcutters trail made,

And led the heroes deep into spiders' lair.

Kejora spied a man entombed,

In silken threads, unconscious, doomed.

The party pressed their quest with zest,

Till spiders struck from hidden nests.

Arthur’s blade in fury burned,

With slash and stab the tide was turned.

River cursed with sailor’s tongue,

His savage strikes both mind and lung.

Viliarra fell to venomous bite,

Yet music pulled her back from the light.

Phobus appeared, and loosed his bolts with might,

Granting the party a moment’s respite.

River freed an elder bound,

While for Phobus, a vagabond found.

For spider’s feast his fate aligned,

As he was left lying, all tied.

Taking stock of gear and blade,

The party fled, their choice was made.

Their spirits dire, but their hearts burned afire,

They fled the dread of the giant spider’s ire.

Joined a party, consisting of Vili, River, Arthur, Kejora, Obiana and Phobus.

We went into the forest together, as we took a quest to look for a lost lumberjack and two woodcutters. When we first arrived there, we checked a web cocoon, that is until we noticed a spider hanging around a tree. We then checked another cocoon, only to find a husk inside of it. After we checked the third cocoon, there was a fat man inside of it, barely conscious. There was a bit mark on his arm, supposedly poisoned. Then, then strings of web around us started to tingle, signaling that there will be an attack. Lo and behold, a group of spiders appeared from the forest, consisting of five spiders. We fought hard and we fought good, until Phobos missed a shot and Vili was attacked, rendering her unconscious. Kejora then healed Vili and we fought until no spiders left. We then proceeded to check all the remaining cocoons, and we found an old woodcutter, trying to gasp for air from being trapped too long inside the cocoon. We then found an unconscious bandit, we left him behind as he is no use to us. Then suddenly, we heard a loud screech. A gigantic spider with a group of spiders behind it. We spared no time, and we retreated, as we have completed our quest of looking for the lost persons.

  Quest occasion:
  The quest started meeting a lot of strangers who just started becoming adventurers like me except for River who already here before us, which is the adventures involved in the quest a bit awkward for first meeting, but then We were given the quest of finding an Civilian that went missing for 2 days in the forest, north to Dawnport, which is 2 Woodcutter and a Lumberjack, The quest was lead by River as he is the senior and guide for us in this quest we discovered the forest itself was full of spider nests.

  We investigated the forest in order to find the missing civilian, we found some weird big cocoons the same size as humans clustered around the forest, it was suspicious so we tried to open it, the discovery was very surprising, the first cocoon was full of baby spider, they all crawled out to Kejora's hands and ran away right after. The second cocoon, we found a corpse..., we tried to make sure that this wasn't our Target by looking for belongings that were still available and found a carpenter tools, which was one of the missing persons, we retrieved the belongings so does the corpse. Then the third cocoon, we found the second woodcutter in an unconscious state and a bite mark of a spider.

  Consequently, by opening the cocoon it triggers signals towards every spider nest, making the 5 great wolf spider aware of our existence, we were surrounded, forcing us to initiate a battle with them, we managed to survive it out, Villiarra almost died but got healed by Kejora's spell, as the battle become intense and dangerous suddenly a new stranger came to help, which was Phobus, with his long ranged attack he saved Villiarra from death. But credits shall be given to the most contributed we were guided and carried by sir River the palladin faking to be a bard, I never knew we could kill a spider just by shouting them into confusion.

  After the battle,a screech of a massive spider can be heard giving Me, River and Phontus chilled on our spine. It was a screech of warning knowing something big would come. We decided to speed up the investigation further by splitting to make it faster find, Me and Sir River, Phobus went alone and The other followed Kejora since they injured. The fourth cocoon was opened by Kejora and contains a corpse as well, but it was already rotten for maybe more than two days. The Fifth was opened by River deep into the back of the forest, we found the old lumberjack still alive, gasping for air, so we saved him. The last cacoon was opened by Phobus, it has bandit it in, but we just left him alone since we wanted to escape before the Big spider come.

  We finally retrieved everyone, but then a loud screen can be heard from 120 feets away from the entrance of the forest, It was the Mother Spider, the size of 30ft. We all got into an argument, whether to fight it or not. River, Phobus and I wanted to fight the massive spider, but the other didn't since they injured and had to carry a corpse and an unconscious person. We ended up escaping the scene, But River and I gave a spell cast to dmg it a bit, while Kejora cast a smoke spell to distract the spider from noticing us escaped.

  To conclude The quest we safely escorted the retrieve civillian back to the guild for completion. It was a success even tho we were too late to save the first person from being a victim of the spider, we did retrieve what was quested.

Quest occasion:

I joined a group of new adventurers in Dawnport on a quest to the woods. It was quite easy to rescue the captured Lumberjacks and woodcutters.

The new adventurers were quite skilled and held up their own. After killing the first wave of spiders, we all decided to retreat until we spotted a giant spider. While I knew we all could take it at first, I decided to attack it with a spell I knew. It hit for the first time but at the second, it missed. It was quite agile. Seeing a lot more smaller spiders, I decided to fully retreat sicne there won't be any good that will come out of recklessly and uselessly sacrificing my life for glory.

Requesting the guild to investigate to investigate or send a party to wipe out the giant spider and its children since they might end up as a threat to Dawnport.
