Hi! I'm Cerritus. I'm a long time nerd, sci-fi fan, and trauma junky. I'm a 22 year old college student studying for Cybersecurity. I don't know what direction I'm gonna be going with my DMing in this server yet, but expect your characters to be traumatized. I like running challenging and unique combats, pushing the mechanical boundaries of Dungeons & Dragons, and traumatizing characters and players alike (consensually, of course).
Roll20/Tech rules
I require a working microphone through Discord.
Please set your roll20 Nickname to the following format or something similar: Character Name (Player Name) PPx ACx
I will sometimes ask you to ping abilities and spells for my reference or if there may be a unique interaction.
Whisper death saving throws! Try to keep other rolls in public unless I specifically ask you to whisper.
DO NOT CHANGE THE MISC. SUMMONS! Just use the default tokens if you don't have a token for a summon or effect.
Conduct
Comfort - We are here to have fun, and someone being uncomfortable with a topic is not fun. If either I or anyone else bring up a topic or do something that causes discomfort, please let me know through whatever means possible. I will resolve the issue as I am capable.
Fleeing - Running is always an option, but some enemies will try to stop you.
Rule of cool - Don't be afraid to try something. We all want to have a "suplex the dragon" moment, and I hope to enable that. If you have an idea that might not quite be within the rules of 5e, ask me and I will try to improvise.
Plan Your Turn - Know what you're going to do on your turn- or at least try to. If combat is moving slow I may end up putting a timer on turns. If this happens, upon reaching the timer's end, your character takes the dodge action on their turn.
Mechanical Adjustments
Criticals - On skill checks and saving throws, Natural 20s give a +5 bonus to the check. Natural 1s may not auto-fail if your bonus is high enough to meet the DC, but it will come with a detriment or cost.
Help - To give an ally the help action on a skill check, you must have proficiency in the relevant skill or give a reasonable justification as to why your character can help.
Advantage - If you have a source of advantage and disadvantage, they cancel out. For the purposes of sneak attack it will function as if you have neither.
Roll with emphasis - If a particularly dramatic moment happens, I may ask you to roll with emphasis. When I do this, roll your d20 twice and take the result farthest from 10.
Potions are a Bonus action to Take and to Administer (You must roll)
If you take a potion as an action, you get the full amount of the heal
RepellingBlast pushes a creature in a horizontal line away from you.
Sometimes only characters proficient in a skill will be allowed to roll.
A maximum of two players can act on any one check (unless deemed otherwise by me):
This includes casting Guidance or using the Help action, which counts as the second participant.
No Flanking.
