Backstory: Blade was born in Goldenfields to a family of farmers and ranchers there, raising animals and growing crops, especially potatoes to make a living. He had a pretty normal upbringing there for a while. But on his fourteenth birthday a sect of Bhaal cultists broke into his home and killed his family. He was set to be killed as well but Bhaal interfered, instead demanding something much worse be done to the traumatized teen. The cultists knocked him out and kidnapped him, forcing him to be a part of a dark ritual which left him with a curse. A curse that lead a flurry of restless souls taking residence within his mind, each a follower of Bhaal from various walks of life, and all loud. They demanded blood and death and worship of their god, as well as having plenty of other opinions statements and chatter to constantly assault Blade's senses with. It was hell to live with, and he did so as the cult's servant for a while. Their blood mule in a way, pitted against all sorts of people and monsters in worshipful blood sport for their own and their god's entertainment. Until one night they slipped up. The magic they used to keep him contained was dispelled by one of the creatures they put him against, and he was able to escape. Thanks to his bloodlust and the fighting he'd been going through for almost a decade by then plus the also rampaging being he'd been pitted again he easily slaughtered each of the cultists, some of who were nobility and other governmental people of power from his home and the surrounding areas, who dared to stay around to try to recapture him. And then he left. Off into the wilds again. He didn't go back to Goldenfields, though he thought about it for a while. By now the farm was surely either long abandoned or bought up by a different family, and he didn't want to risk ruining it again for someone else, especially while he was still struggling to contain the voices in his mind. So instead he just wandered for a bit. Surviving off the land where he could. Killing anything that tried to kill him. Until arriving at the Glassfang Syndicate. He has a bit better control now, and mercenary work might even help with containing the voices, so he reluctantly decides he can't avoid civilization forever and has decided to sign up to stay here in the hopes he can find at least some comforts here without hurting anyone who doesn't deserve to be hurt.
