Dastot Amkesh is a young man who has always wanted to be a hero. At least, he thinks he has. For the past five years, he has been doing odd jobs and helping out in the small settlements of Grayvale, doing his best to improve the lives of the common man. Dastot believes he is destined to become a hero and will talk at length about heroism as well as the ideals one must embody to be considered a true savior of the people.
To be a hero one must:
- Believe in yourself.
- Help those in need, no matter how hard.
- Defeat evil. Especially big evil monsters.
- Inspire others to be heroes.
- Never turn back.
- Never give up.
This is not an exhaustive list, but these are the ones that come up most often. You will hear them a lot.
He's been asked on a few occasions about why he wants to be a hero, but Dastot cannot remember. His memories all start five years ago when he woke up in an alleyway with a broken sword hilt in his hand and blood dripping from a wound in his chest. He'll claim that an evil wizard defeated him in a fight and erased his memories to keep him from returning to destroy him.
No one knows what happened, but it's definitely not that.
