Ashryn Daemus is NOT an adventurer.
Her entire life, Ashryn has been waited on hand and foot. Being the sole heir of the noble Daemus family came with those perks. If you can call them that. Her family inherited a keep located on the edge of the Ash Wall in a magical forest many generations prior to her birth. Her parents and ancestors had always had a fascination with the Ash Wall, even going as far as to name their children after it.
To protect Ash, her family cut off her access to any locations outside of the mansion they called home. To them, it was out of love and care for their one and only daughter, but to her, it felt like a suffocating cage that she was locked inside of.
As a child, around 20 years or so, Ashryn, managed to sneak out of the keep to go exploring. She ventured a little too close to the Ash Wall, and saw a corpse that was gripping tightly to a book. Her curiosity couldn't be helped, and she attempted to grab the book from the body. She is left in shock when she hears moans and groans coming from the dead man, and realized he was still "alive". In a panic, she ran back towards her keep in search of help.
When she returned to the keep, she found the nearest guard and started pleading for his help. After several minutes of interrogations as to why she was outside the keep in the first place, the guard gathered a few more soldiers and the best healer and followed her to the body.
When they arrive back to the location, Ashryn is shocked to see that the man is sitting up, grabbing his head as if he had a headache. Ashryn convinces the man to return to her family's keep for questioning. At first, he is incoherent, and doesn't remember much from before he was found, but as the days go on, he starts to remember small bits and pieces.
After the interrogations, the man began to work in the keep. Over the span of many years, and hundreds of hunts later, Ashryn's parents took notice of the man and promoted him to be Ash's personal bodyguard and steward. She finally got a proper introduction to him, finding out his name is Beauregard Day. It was during this time that Beauregard entrusted her with the book that she found him with by the Ash Wall.
Due to her noble class, her family expected her to remain well-versed in all manners of study. However, she took a deep dive into all things related to the mysterious Ash Wall as well as divine magics.
