Osdan was born in a small dwarven hold built into old mountain stone. He was not strong at the forge, so his family gave him to a temple, where he served as a quiet acolyte. He swept floors, copied prayers, and learned simple wizardry from old stone texts. When the Ashwall fell, Osdan found that some ancient sacred texts in the temple described a disaster that sounded too close to what had just happened. The words were old and damaged, but their meaning was clear enough to trouble him. He warned the priests, but they called him fearful, then dangerous, because no one wanted a low acolyte naming shadows in sacred stone. Osdan left for Last Lantern to prove he was not mad, join the Lantern Company, and learn why the same signs now wait beyond the ash.

After his first expedition in Last Lantern, Osdan saw something promising in the company. Moved by the thought, he began writing beautifully caligraphed invitations as the feeling took him, addressing them to the faithful and fearless adventurers he had met in the temple. “If we stand united, we can uncover the secrets beyond the Ashenwall and protect the realm and its people from the forces of evil!
