Backstory:
Sharvara’s earliest memories are not of a home, a family, or a childhood.
They are of duty.
Forged within the depths of the Nine Hells, Sharvara was created to serve a powerful archdevil whose name she still refuses to speak. She was not born as a normal mortal, but as a living guardian fashioned from three bound souls. Each soul possessed its own thoughts, emotions, and desires, yet all three were imprisoned within a single body and forced to act as one.
The first soul embodied loyalty, unwavering and steadfast.
The second embodied ferocity, eager to destroy any threat to its master.
The third embodied judgment, forever questioning right and wrong.
Together, they became Sharvara.
For centuries, she served as the perfect watchdog. She guarded infernal vaults, hunted escaped souls, tracked enemies across planes, and stood watch at the gates of her master’s domain. No command was questioned. No order was refused.
Her purpose was simple.
Protect.
Obey.
Serve.
And for a long time, that purpose was enough.
Over the years, however, the three souls began to change. Exposure to countless mortals, devils, and damned spirits slowly shaped them into individuals rather than mere fragments of a weapon. The soul of judgment grew increasingly troubled by the cruelty it witnessed. The soul of loyalty began to question whether devotion should be earned rather than demanded. Even the soul of ferocity found itself longing for something more meaningful than endless violence.
The conflict within Sharvara grew.
Three minds.
Three perspectives.
One body.
Eventually, the tension became impossible to ignore.
When ordered to carry out a task that would condemn thousands of innocent souls for no purpose beyond amusement, Sharvara hesitated.
Only for a moment.
But in the Hells, a moment is enough.
Her master immediately recognized the flaw that had developed within his servant. Sharvara was no longer a loyal hound.
She was becoming a person.
For such a failure, there could be only one punishment.
Exile.
Stripped of her position and cast from the Nine Hells, Sharvara was thrown into the mortal world with nothing but the body she inhabited and the voices of the other two souls constantly accompanying her.
For the first time in her existence, she had no master.
No orders.
No purpose.
No one to protect.
The freedom she had unknowingly desired felt far more terrifying than any punishment.
For a time, she wandered aimlessly, struggling to understand what to do with herself. The three souls argued constantly. One wished to return to the Hells and reclaim their place. One wanted revenge against the master who discarded them. One simply wanted to find a reason to keep moving forward.
Eventually, Sharvara realized something.
Her need to serve had never truly been about obedience.
It had always been about protecting others.
That instinct remained, even after everything else had been taken away.
Now Sharvara travels the world searching for a new purpose. Not a master to command her, but someone worthy of her loyalty. Someone she can protect not because she is ordered to, but because she chooses to.
Until then, the Three-Fold Hound continues her journey, guided by three souls sharing one body, each seeking a place where they finally belong.
