Backstory:
Maven was born in Fionnis to Mary and Gillian Crenshaw. Mary died in childbirth and Gillian, as head of The Raven Guard mercenary company, was forced to bring Maven along on his deployments. As Maven grew older, Gillian trained her as a promising young warrior in her own right. On her 16th birthday, the Raven Guard were deployed to intercept a band of roaming Orcs said to be raiding the coasts of the mainland. This "small band" was much larger than intel suggested and The Raven Guard were ambushed. Maven was hit in the leg by a ballista bolt which had been slowed down by passing through their second-in-command. Gillian fell trying to protect her. But shortly after, she was struck by a mace to the head, blinding her left eye. When she awoke, all she found were the scattered corpses of The Raven Guard, now nothing more than food for the crows. She stumbled back to civilization to report their defeat and recover from her injuries. Six years later, Maven has taken up the tattered banner of The Raven Guard to rebuild her Father's legacy while forging her own.
