Standing only 6'7" tall and weighing 250 pounds when his fur is wet, Kraz was often mocked for his small stature by the other bugbears in his community. At a young age he learned that a sharp tongue or a kind smile could sometimes defuse a beating before it even started. Not always though, which is why a proper bugbear fist cracked his ribs when he was twelve. The asymmetric mend left his left side stiff during morning frosts.
He stopped trying to wrestle his cousins after that. Instead, he took to the woods, dragging a old rusty shortsword through the dirt until the muscle memory stuck. He didn't know any fancy stances and no one was willing to waste any time trying to teach the runt. He just practiced poking holes in tree trunks and swinging low enough to catch a larger bugbear in the shins. He hasn't actually killed anyone yet, mostly because apologizing or running is easier than burying a body, but his hand stays near his blade whenever the hour grows late.
