Fenolin began life as a root vegetable farmer and in her old age became a local mystic. She provided herbs to her sick neighbors, predicted the weather for her community, and mostly minded her own business.
Then, the local Baron used eminent domain to seize her farmland, leaving her with a measly handful of silver coins and an eviction notice.
Fenolin didn't cry. She just looked at her gnarled hands, grabbed her quarterstaff, and decided that if the civilized world was built on greed, her and nature are going to get their cut. She turned to a life of adventuring, never turning down a chance to acquire gold, even if in a method not strictly allowed by law.
When The War came, Fenolin had no great love for her current rulers but knew the Barcain Empire would be even worse. She threw herself into the fight, knowing that the greater the force arrayed against the enemy the shorter the war would be. When victory was won, however, Fenolin realized she now found her day to day life rather boring. It seems she has gotten a taste for war.
