A barrel-chested Styrnfolk, broad of shoulder and strong of arm, Bann grew up cutting down trees for Storhavn and hauling them on sledges. He pulled the cart alongside the horses.

Bann's father, Skryn, was wise. He was killed when a tree fell on him. His mother's name was Hoki.

The Log-Splitters kept a mated pair of goblins as chimney-sweeps because all of them had such overdeveloped shoulders and arms that they could not easily do tasks in small spaces. They died too.

In his first Fist, he proved his valor by placing himself in a cave mouth to help stem the flow of Greatwolves. He wore a trinket of four Greatwolf fangs until he sacrificed them to Attalok and further cemented his place as a man of the Fist. In its place he wears a Winter Wolf fang that he calls the "Bannwolf."

His greatest achievement was as part of the fist known for being phoenix-slayers.

His small tract of land is used for his wood-cutting business. He keeps his wagon there and hopes to start a family.
