Gil comes from a small town, when he was in his early 20s he was possessed by the Nilbog spirit. His clan wasn't sure how to treat him since the Nilbog hadn't been seen for a long time. Eventually he was subjected to medical treatment that resulted in his death.

When he died the Nilbog departed, but he was then revived. He retains a bit of the spirit of the Nilbog and can communicate with it. He is dedicated to equality and rights, and is prone to poking fun at authority figures which gets him in trouble.
